I have the 12-22 as well, and mostly use the 4 way wedge (got the box and 6 way too). I gotta ask, why didn't you split and stack at the same time?
@HometownAcres
4 жыл бұрын
So in the last couple videos I’ve been getting through some big 25”+ rounds and cutting them and getting them to the splitter has been beating me up so I’ve just been trying to get everything split and done. Now I can use the tractor, push the pile over to where I’m gonna stack and then just spend an afternoon stacking. If I had some smaller logs I’d probably stack the same day but I don’t think it hurts any to let it sit for a day or 2 until I get back out there

Hey Buddy it looks like you guys were getting a good rhythm going. My question is , do you leave the splitter attached to side x side while you are splitting? Good video thanks for sharing!
@HometownAcres
4 жыл бұрын
I do. Doing it that way eliminates the need for a conveyer. Once you get a nice mound of wood on the discharge side of the machine, you just pull the side by side and splitter forward 3-4 feet and make another mount leaving a trail of firewood behind you. After that I take the loader on the tractor, pile it up and start stacking
@daveholmes123
4 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam, that splitter is a beast. I was wondering how your utv handles pulling it around if you're had it in the woods or say over the hills? Weighing in around 2500# it's definitely a heavyweight! As far as your videos go I like both ways I appreciate you sharing with all of us! Great job 👍
@HometownAcres
4 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave. It pulls it just fine. The only issue I see is that the tongue is a bit short when towing it from the discharge side. Andrew at Eastonmade said they have started manufacturing them with a longer tongue and will be sending me one. So right now I move the tongue to the opposite side (how I always have it set up in the videos) and there is actually negative tongue weight on that side so it is actually taking weight off my back tires. As long as I have it in 4 wheel drive it’s fine because my front tires bite in but if I was in 2 wheel I’d have to have some addition ballast in the bed of the ranger to keep my back tires firmly planted
@garny3766
4 жыл бұрын
Hometown Acres I noticed that too. I imagine you have to be careful if you’re turning sharp or that table will dig right into the box of your UTV, or truck. That was one of the changes I did to my splitter is to lengthen the tongue. I radius from my hitch point on my tractor to the edge of the log rack and edge of the bumper on my truck to make sure I could jack knife my splitter 90*. Helps a lot when maneuvering in the woods. I like watching normal speeds some of the time so we can get a real life perspective at just how fast not only this machine but others as well. It cracks me up watching a certain 2way splitter. It seems about 95% of the time they are playing @ 1.25 to 1.5 times faster. It seems like the splitter is really fast until you see a persons hand or arm move! Damn false advertising!
