I'm blown away. I find it especially cool, that he didn't just bomb away all the trees!

the trees are a way to defend the base without a wall

Hi there do you mind if I ask you a few questions on your train base. I like the game but I am terrible at it. Every time I try make a make base I DISCOVER way too late I have painted myself in a corner and to redo my base is basically starting over and that is a mess of produced items or storage issues. I tried to make so many mega bases and it always a huge wreck

if you do not have a preplanned starter base, leave more space than you think you need for adding things. build enough steel furnaces for at least 4 red belts of copper and 3 iron, import ore by train when the starter mines are low, and use the plates for circuits and the mall. circuits will be used to make modules, use tier 1 productivity on blue and green circuit assemblers, then when you have enough tier 3 modules, upgrade prod 1 to 3, then use a beaconed assembly line for circuits you are low on. smelting can be switched to beaconed electric furnaces with tier 1 modules if steel furnaces are not enough. to divide resources for tier 3 modules, about 80% of copper goes to green circuits, 20% to red circuits, 56% of green circuits goes to blue circuits, 35% to red circuits, 9% to tier 1 modules, 32% of red circuits go to blue circuits and the rest go to tier 1,2,3 modules. a main bus layout allows distribution that adjusts to consumption but other preplanned layouts can work. the more ore you get, the more modules you can get.
