I worked for construction company in central Florida and I operated a MT865B trailering two eighteen yard scraper pans in tandem. Most impressive machine I’ve ever operated.

Is it dry there? it looks like it.Are there any sprayers spraying for weeds and volunteer crop there yet? Even though our fields here are still snow covered, watching your videos makes the winter blues go away.Cant wait for spring to arrive here.Keep the videos coming.

The tractor costs almost a half a million dollars and no doubt the applicator costs one hundred thousand dollars. It is mind numbing, at least to me and the 330 gallon fuel tank is probably only good for 12 hours. When I left the farm in 1964 a John Deere 4010 was somewhere in the $7,000 or less range and that was a lot. No wonder small farmers have fallen to the wayside.

roy gunter that tractor is no where near a half mil. I don’t even think a new challenger racks up a half mil.

This was in 2015. I am not sure on the rate. Corn is already being planted here in WKY. I filmed this same farm a few weeks ago on NH3 for 2018. They have an MT875E now. It only had one tank on it this year as the ground was wet so they ran one wagon to avoid extra compaction.

It’s amazing that semi’s can keep enough NH3 coming into the fertilizer plants to keep farmers running. I assume the NH3 comes from terminals on the Ohio River. I know there is a big one in Henderson. Thanks for the nice video! It is that time of year. 😉

When I worked for a fertilizer dealer in southern Idaho in the late 60-70s we got our NH3 shipped in by rail.

Why would you use NH3 fertilizer? It is just because of the speed it releases the nitrogen to the plants? And is only once fertilizing with nh3 enough for the whole growing season of the crop? Thanks :)

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I think anhydrous ammonia is the chemical used to make GMOS to have better plant life and health. ( I think I don't really know (

NH3 can be used by any plant requiring nitrogen, It isn't a GMO thing. It's primary use, however, is the nitrogen source for corn crops. Yes it is used as a nitrogen source for GMO corn, but we've used NH3 for decades, way before GMO corn came on the scene. Nitrogen is the key part of amino acid synthesis (which builds protein) in the plant. This protein is used as a key facilitator of chlorophyll.

Nice video. i cant imagine how much of a pain it must be to have 6 or so little nurse tanks that you have to hook and unhook each time after every 70 acres or so and then having to pull them to the inputs station to refill. Here in western canada we have big 4000+ gallon wagons that can do a whole quarter section before filling and have semis that haul ammonia out to the field for us.

Thank you for watching. The field this MT875C is working in is 1,000 acres. The roads to it are narrow so smaller equipment is used to transport. The good thing is the full station is only two miles away. It takes about two minutes to switch the wagons. I will have a video on the switch over.
