Watching that connecting rod flying around at this modest rpm gives one an idea of what actually happens inside a modern engine at speed.

Nice engine! I like the variety of moving parts it has, makes it very interesting to watch.

The chassis setup you made for this is perfect. You've preserved this motor for all time, which is most important. Good job!

Wow, I could see those naked pistons going up and down..finally ...now I know how fast an automobile engine's piston would go up and down at even 1000RPM...

I can assure you it is a four-stroke engine. The valves are on the side of the head and driven by the vertical shaft.

He started it up by bumping it off the cylinder's compression, just like with a hot-bulb engine.

No, this is a four stroke; the valves are driven by a vertical lineshaft.

Beautiful. I wonder is that just the idle speed. Valve gear eccentric reminds me of Triumph Bonneville oil pump mechanism.

Very nice to see the cranck and the valve-lifters. Is there some sort of brake around the driveshaft ?

How many weights that engine? Russian low-octan petrol engine L6/3 (1945-1962) weights 100kg at 6HP. Still used on slow boats due to its reliability.
