16 0z of Arch oil ($40) in my last oil change did wonders to fix my rough idol during warm up. It's a temporary fix but I was shocked at how well it worked. I first tried MotorKote but that did absolutely nothing.

I have 2007 6.0 hard start when cold. 20sec turn over. I have good ficm voltage good at 47.50 start and idle. My ICP was above 500psi. I do see on my scan tool that 3-5-7 weak until temp is to operation.Buzz test was good at cold start as well. My qestion with 3-5-7 would that make a hard start at 60 degress. I suspect cold stick injector as well.

The software on his computer is called IDS (integrated diagnostic system), It is the factory Ford software or Ford factory scan tool. It is PC based. I bought it for my shop....its not cheap. The cost up front with cable (VCM) and software w/ dedicated only laptop was like 3K. But a must if you work on Fords I love it. Hey Ron where was that mode you click on to show fuel demand increase/decrease for each injector when in the cylinder balance menu?

Ron, I have a 2004 Super Duty that is hard to start first time of the day. starts runs rough stalls. once it stays running it will smooth out and run great. it will start immediately for the rest of the day. Temps here in MD are in the 60's now. no codes. what have you found that usually causes this scenario? New batteries as well.

I have a 2003 F250 6.0 starts rough and looses power when its cold. Its hard to catch freeway speed. In between 1000 and 2000 RPM it jumps. After that it accelerates good. I already replaced the FICM and the ICP censors. It made a diference but it still does it. My question is: Will this be an injector problem? Thank you very much.

Pnwmotocross Ridge Mx Replace the culprit injector. Depending on the year, you may also need to do the updated stand pipe/dummy plug, and always, always use Ford OEM injectors, or you will be doing it again. Btw not sure if you know, but DieselTechRon passed away 2 years ago. Hence the no reply to your comment.

For when you'd rather spend $20 instead of $1500 to see all the graphs and run the Ford specific tests. Get an OBDII ELM327 or Vgate bluetooth module and Car Gauge Pro (ANDRIOD ONLY, sorry apple people, you must pay Ford). It reads the Ford diesel specific sensors, gets live data and runs all the KOEO and KOER test (injector buzz etc...)

my 05' 6.0 runs pretty rough until it warms up even if i let it idle in the driveway for a few minutes before i take off. it will barely get up to highway speed and will act like it is missing. once it warms up all is fine but i would like o get it running properly. does this sound like a bad injector?

My 05 idles and starts just fine no issues. It runs amazingly until I hit my overdrive gear or above say 40 then it starts to stutter and jerk sometimes smoothing out and restarting power for a moment then back to what feels like a misfire. I’ve replaced my FICM which did go out at one point, removed EGR, fixed hpop leak at quick coupler, 4” turbo back with a 50hp tow SCT time per Bill Hewitt at powerstroke help. I’m about to blow this truck up it just pisses me off. 6.0 is a complete failure of a motor they rushed out to meet production demand without fine tuning their engineering short comings.

Pnwmotocross Ridge Mx You sure it is not a transmission issue? The 6.0 is bolted to one of the best units in the industry, but these trucks are getting old, and racking up the mileage. These transmission are hitting that point where problems will begin to arise due to age and wear. My advice is have a true Powerstroke pro check it out. There are tests than can be done to confirm integrity of the fuel and oiling system. Like Ron showed in this video, other tests can confirm injection integrity as well.

The intermittent jerking in overdrive has been established as a symptom of a failing injector. But it is possible for the transmission to have issues like was mentioned above. Buy the Torque app and a cheap $15 bluetooth OBD2 adapter. Ron shows how to set the app up in some of his other videos. Run the fault codes scan and start the vehicle cold. Note any codes by saving or taking a screen shot. Taking a screen shot is quicker. Go for a drive and put the truck in the same scenario that causes your drivability issue. Note any codes there. Good luck.

Put 8 oz's Rev-X oil additive it will smooth right out guaranteed I know from experience

ADD A QUART OF ATOMATIC TRANS FLUID IN THE FUELOF 25 GALS IT WILL CLEAN THE INJECTORS. ATF IS BETTER THAN 75% OF THE ADDITIVES ON THE MARKET N CHEAPER. MAIN PROBLEM WITH 6.0 IS INJECTORS
