Chad provides a comprehensive lesson electronic transitions within an atom involving the absorption and emission of photons. The lesson begins with a description of the Bohr model of the atom which correctly proposed that the energies of electrons in an atom are quantized. Also presented is how to calculate the energy of any electron in a hydrogen atom, how to calculate the energy change of an electronic transition, and how to calculate the energy, wavelength and frequency of an absorbed or emitted photon. The lesson is concluded with a description of the various series in the emission spectrum the hydrogen atom including the Lyman series, Balmer series, Paschen series, and Bracket series.
I've embedded this playlist as a course on my website with all the lessons organized by chapter in a collapsible menu and much of the content from the study guide included on the page. Check this lesson out at www.chadsprep.com/chads-gener...
