Logically, if this relay is bad it will either not come on when voltage(or ground) is applied to one of the smaller terminals or if it has arced too much internally, it will not pass power when turned on. I believe the small terminals that control it one is constant battery voltage the other goes to the PCM and applies ground to activate it. Use a monitor like AlfaOBD to see when it's commanded on.

Where does the larger black wire go on the 2 main bolts negative term on battery? One is red to battery what’s the other? Mine has nothing on the black side

You can check if the solenoid/relay is good with a multi meter. You will have constant power on one side, and no power on the other. Then get someone to turn key, and see if the voltage passes through. If it does not your solenoid/relay is bad and needs to be replaced. PS. hearing the relay click DOES NOT mean it passes voltage
