The Lee Enfield is affordable, but I hope you got the U.S. Treasury to help you afford .303 British ammo.

@@stonebay2111 yeah, I think some of the TT 33 clones are on the lower end of the scale, closer to 500, I inherited one, I wouldn't have payed more than 100 for it. This guy must be talking to resellers who are able to jump through all the hoops to obtain surplus firearms from foreign governments.

Classic Firearms has the Zastava M88A 9mm TT Tokarev Type Semi-Auto Pistol for $300 right now(April 2024). Since it's in 9mm instead of the standard Tokarev's 7.62x25 round, the ammo would be much easier to acquire.

You want a hunting rifle ? OK, Surplus Garand or Lee Enfield 's used to be a dime a dozen. Prices have gone up post Covid but still good value. If you want a handgun then look out for the Browning Hi-Power in 9mm. Inexpensive rather than cheap but reliable.

I have the Star Super B and the CZ. Both very handsome guns. The Super looks almost unissued, with bluing deep enough to swim in. Very smooth hammer, like pulling it through melted butter. The CZ-70 is solid and well-built. In 7.65mm Browning (.32ACP), it's a mild shooter, with a very firm DA trigger. It's pretty unique in that it can also be carried "cocked and locked" like a SAO pistol.

Can someone tell me how you get the pronunciation of Caracano out of Carcano? especially being that it's the same rifle that Lee Harvey Oswald supposedly shot Kennedy with. it's a well know rifle so how you can screw up the name is beyond me. besides that, I can think of a lot more surplus firearms that are much better than those listed that I'd rather buy and/or have.
