reminds me of one of those ads to tell you how to get rich instantly it doesn’t happen but if you have $30,000 go ahead and look on one of these cheapest exotic list and buy whatever you want on one off these list but just know that maintenance is gonna be horrible and if something breaks it’s most likely going to be expensive I suggest you get a car that’s exotic but shares a lot of parts with other cars if you get an exotic that shares an engine with a reliable brand that’ll be best and learn how to do the maintenance yourself it’s very doable if you pick the right car and have had time with a cheaper car to learn how to do basic maintenance

Yes he is correct you can purchase the cars in question dirt cheap. Problem is the maintenance on everycar listed is astronomical. Simple things like an oil change on a lambo is minimum of $800 dollars. New brakes and tires (anycar on list) try $3000!!! So this notion that someone is "faking" wealth by driving a car on this list is bullshit. Yes the owners may not be millionaires but you certainly are not living paycheck to paycheck if you can afford the enormous expenses of owning an exotic car.

I know someone who's almost certainly a 9 figure millionaire as they have extensive real estate holdings in SoCal and they've NEVER purchased a new car. They finally leased a new car, but it was still under $50k (this was about a decade ago). Granted, this is a person who came up from nothing and really struggled and has always had a fear of losing everything, so no, not everyone thinks like you and ACTUAL millionaires often times behave contrary to the blinged out hyper consumers we're led to believe.

There is so much that is wrong with the video. The insistence that people buy nice cars for the sole reason because they want to show off to the world is a joke. Maybe that is the reason why this guy buys his cars, to show off. But I own a 22 year old 6-speed manual Porsche 993 C2 and also own an 8 year old 7-speed PDK equipped Porsche 997.2 C2S. Neither one of these 911s were bought because I wanted to show off. Both of my Porsches were bought simply because they are phenomenally engineered cars that shine, shine especially on a race track. I could care less what the world thinks of me when I am out driving either 911, because both cars do their job and that is to bring a big smile to my face when I drive them.

Where as I don't necessarily disagree with him, I think the way he phrases it (fake millionaires) is not necessarily accurate. I don't care if I was worth millions, I would have a hard time knowing that I've owned a car for 3 years/30k miles and the car is worth half of what i've paid for it; just to say i bought something new.

The notion of fake millionaires vs "real" ones is ridiculous. A millionaire is a millionaire and it comes down to preference of what they want to spend there money on. If someone want's to get a older car for what ever there reason is that is their choice. This whole video you keep presuming this notion of flaunting, but not everyone buys cars for that reason (ex. collectors, track enthusiasts, nostalgia, preference ). I know some multi millionaires who drive exotics (both old and new) and others that choose not too and drive normal cars, doesn't make one more of a multi millionaire than another (cough...and they could afford 5 hyper cars if they wanted too).

This is the internet where apparently everyone has money. I bought a used 2009 Audi R8, 5 years ago for 100k. It has full options and was 143k brand new but now is only worth 68k. On the internet this guy says I'm a wannabee.... IN REAL LIFE A USED AUDI R8 OR GALLARDO IS BETTER THAN WHAT 90% OF PEOPLE WILL EVER OWN. 99% of the time if I take my R8 out it is the nicest car I see. I live in Vegas so every couple weeks I might see a Lambo or Ferrari that cost more, but there's also a good chance it's a rental while as I own mine. I wish everyone could get a loan for a 10 plus year old 65-80k v8 r8 or gallardo. In reality most banks would only go 3 years on a car this old. Your easily looking at $1500 a month car payments. I just don't see how that's poser when the average person dosent even spend 1500 a month on their house, apartment ect???? I think a home is a better indicator of money. You could have a guy in a 2018 R8 plus that he paid 200k for but lives in a small condo. On the other hand I have an old v8 R8 but I live in a 5300 sq foot house. If I were to gauge anyone's finances it would be on their home before car or clothes.

Even if it makes you look like a millionaire while you are not, if your car costs 50k+ you could still be considered 'rich'. A middle class car costs 20k or 30k normally. Just go around in your neighborhood (unless you are in a rich/poor neighborhood) and you'll see

I drive a 2015 T-type R. I gets all the 'rich guy' cred that these do - with the exception of the Lambo - for a $60k cost. Most of the brutal depreciation is gone. As 'fun' as any of the above sans the Lambo. But at least, what? -- 1/5th or less the cost.

These are a list of cars that depreciated to a point that average people can use them to flex. Missing cars would be the f430, 09 GTR first year only, a Porsche 911 (definitely not in manual) and surprisingly the mp412c which is on the higher end but they loving going to events and telling people about their “Mclaren”. Also you can pick up an r8 v10 first gen for under 80k so… yeah

I don’t quite understand how anyone would perceive an owner of any of the cars listed as “millionaires”. Even before I really got into cars, I would think someone driving a really nice car like on this list makes close to or above 100k a year (which is pretty accurate). I would think they’re definitely well off, but I wouldn’t jump to “millionaire”. I don’t think there’s any 1 car someone can own, besides something insane like a Bugatti, that would make me immediately assume they have millions. If you really wanna trick someone into thinking you have millions, finance a mansion down South that’s going for less than 500k and fix it up. You’ll need good credit and an already nice house to sell, but that’ll do more to trick people than any car would.

I think the concept that you’re buying a car just to look a specific way is completely false. People purchase cars at a specific price point because that’s what they can afford and want. That doesn’t mean they are a “fake millionaires” it just means they have good taste in cars and they want to own cool cars that they CAN afford. Why are you shaming people that want to own cool cars but can’t afford to pay full new sticker? If I have $30,000 and I want to buy my dream exotic car and I can, then why not? How does that make me a fake millionaire? Why would I spend that $30,000 on a Honda accord if I want the Bentley. LAME. BackAssword thinking.
