Worth noting the Kings were in Cincinnati before moving to KC and were known as the Cincinnati Royals. That team was actually first in Rochester from 1923 to 1957 and in Cincy from 1957 to 1971 before moving to Kansas City AND Omaha before settling completely in KC in 1975. Oscar Robertson played most of his career for the Royals in Cincinnati before joining the Milwaukee Bucks in 1970. Robertson would win a title in his first year with the Bucks as he teamed up with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (known as Lew Alcindor at that time).

Not to mention how much wealthier Seattle is and how much more corporate sponsorship there is.

There are a lot of cities that have lost NBA teams. For example, before the KIngs were in KC, they were in Cincy and, prior to that, in Rochester, NY. Before the 76ers moved to Philadelphia, they were the Syracuse Nationals. The Pistons were the Fort Wayne, IN Pistons before moving to Michigan. And how about St Louis, who used to be the home of the Hawks? How come they're never on any NBA expansion list? There's quite a few other big cities, like San Diego, who's lost not one but two NBA franchises. In their case, they had the original San Diego Rockets who moved to Houston and then the San Diego Clippers (who originally were the Buffalo Braves until their move to California in the 77-78 season) who moved to LA. Let me tell you, the NBA might have a corporate mentality now that it's well established but it was an extremely chaotic organization for many decades well into living memory. I mean, I remember in the 70s when the NBA Finals were on tape delay so it wouldn't affect regularly scheduled programming.

Rochester royals, cincinnati royals, and kansas city kings (now the sacramento kings) im 23 from cincy so the royals were before my time and my mother was only 2-3 when they left according to my grandparents “much like the cincinnati stingers no one really cared for the royals either.” Granted the nba was much smaller in the 60s and 70s compared to today. So maybe if all 3 cities had an nba team they may do better especially with how the bengals and fc cincinnati have been i think cincy would be more accepting this time around. Same goes for kansas city and the chiefs. Rochester idk if their big enough considering the 2 teams exist in new york already. But id be fine with both or either a nhl or nba team! (We just need an arena first) also we should get teams in canada like montreal maroons or musketeers(french heritage) (maroons:former pro hockey team from 1924-38 won the stanley cup twice (1926 and 32) the vancouver millionaires (nhl team before canucks) edmonton skyhawks(NBL team name from 90s now defunct) calgary stallions (flames have a horse logo) and quebec huskies (nordiques had a rebrand concept of a husky logo that never was used also save nordiques for the expansion team) additionally id say cincinnati royals or, Lions, cardinals(state bird of ohio) , Kansas city scouts or knights! (former nhl team) spirits of st louis (aba team before aba-nba merger). Tampa bay mutiny (former mls team) nashville rhythm, lousiville cardinals (if they can get the rights) seattle sonics (obviously) if they cant do that do metropolitans (or mets) or ironmen (hockey teams that came before kraken) pittsburgh phantoms or ironmen (steel city) Raleigh rams. New jersey hittmen. 🕴️ Hamilton (ontario) tigers. Las vegas (sin city vipers or las vegas blackjacks) honorable mention: mexico citu guerreros (if the warriors didnt exist since the word translates to warriors) so i got a better one “Los Angeles de la Cuidad de Mexico” (in english nba broadcasts they would be known in the US as “The Angels of Mexico City or Mexico City Angels!” If not do Los aztecas de la cuidad de mexico (mexico city aztecs)

I can't believe the NBA went to Memphis. The team would of been better off in Louisville or Jacksonville or Norfolk.

There is nothing wrong with Memphis. Nashville is fine too, but both cities are still major cities.

They should move to ST Louis but Nashville makes more sense then Memphis NBA fck up too Much moving NBA teams to smaller markets and smaller cities Las Vegas is small market sort of I think 40-50 DM really not that small

Nashville is 2 million and Memphis is 1.3 million. Not much difference in the TV markets.

Any new Seattle team would likely play in the Defund The Police Arena. Who takes Seattle seriously? The city is a joke.
