Late May on the River Derwent, fishing with an olive pattern then switching to a midge pattern (both dry) as the light was fading.
Both produced fish no problem.
Fishing for brown trout with dry fly in rivers is very rewarding as the work involved to prevent the fly dragging is 50% of the skill involved in presentation.
As the vegetation on the bank sides becomes higher it will be increasingly difficult to cast in some of the pools but now its still fine.
Stay tuned for a grayling which makes rare appearance at the end and also a slip which nearly broke my rod.
