how is the black back ground with zero spill acheived
@AKARafa19
3 жыл бұрын
Strong and intense light so that the camera compensates with darker exposure crushing any light spills in the background + create distance from subject so that any backlight doesn’t spill into background.
@lulumink0
3 жыл бұрын
@@AKARafa19 I was wondering the same thing. Does the subject need to be far away from the background? Will a 300watt softbox work? I tried it, but the background is still relatively bright. Do I need to crank the light all the way up?
@AKARafa19
3 жыл бұрын
@@lulumink0 Soft boxes are good for softening and spreading light, which leaks light onto the background. My advice would be to either angle the light differently so it doesn't light the background or create even more distance between subject/background. If you use a spot light you can also use some sort of barn doors/flag to shape the light around the subject. It's somewhat hard to help without actually seeing the setup but my advice is to just try different intensities and different exposures in camera.

Hi, first of all, a great video! Subscribed. I can’t achieve split lighting effect with my softbox. I placed my soft box on the subject’s right side and I tried to shot standing opposite to the subject so that it’ll be 90° between the camera and the softbox. For some reason, the entire subject's face is in light instead of just one side. Do I need to have dark background on all sides? My room has white walls. Does it cause a problem for this effect? I don’t know how to fix this. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong ?

Don't let light spill onto your background, Pull the subject away from the background, Place your light up higher so it kinda sprays the light onto the floor, not the background
