I'd love to start riding vert. I have access to ramps and bowls on my door step but its getting over the fear of dropping in.I've seen many videos with people giving you some tips on this but would love to see your ideas on this, mate!

We've just gone into lockdown again in the UK, so no access to the vert for another month but I like the idea of breaking down the steps to dropping in on vert - I may give the video a shot this week or next. Cheers for the idea fella!

@@LewisFarley I heard about the second lockdown! Pain in the arse but we can't do anything about it. Nice one, I look forward to seeing it. Cheers, mate.

It took me three visits to vert ramp. I was just pumping and kickturning the first one. Second time I was trying get closest to coping, kickturning and going straight. And third time I was trying fakie ollies and tail tap closest to the coping and backside slash. Then I was comfortable and confident that I could drop it. Maybe I just took too much time, but I was really scared to drop in a vert. :D So my advice is just slowly build up your confidence and just kickturn and do basic stuff and then you got it!

Also, we've gone into *another* lockdown here in the UK, so unfortunately I'll not be able to skate the vert again for another 4 weeks. Actually sucks.

Literally the only thing I'm waiting on are my parks being closed until Nov 28th, and even then, we're not sure if quarantine will be extended. Really hoping this pandemic blows over to a point where we can start again!

hey you will be glad to know that lockdowns have very little correlation with suppressing the corona virus. plenty of studies have shown this. so, if you are losing your business, or income, or your mind, chew on the fact that they are unnecessary

Nollie 180, that is a cool one Lewis. Thanks for sharing, so so good to see more vert clips. Unlike Ian, closest Vert ramp for me is a 2 1/2 hr drive, but thankfully not in lock-down!

FS grind is the easiest of the bunch. Just start on smaller ramps and make the progression.

do you think learning these tricks below coping is worth anything? asking because a lot of the tricks you are landing higher than where your started, if you do that above coping, that means you will hang up, all the time going into learning muscle memory is wasted, you pretty much have to start over to learn them so you dont hang up .

it would do more sense to learn, say, a fs ollie in the vertical part or at coping-height than to learn a nollie somewhere at the bottom of the transition, definetely! most of these tricks will keep a beginner from learning tricks on the coping, a nollie will ask for speed reduction when you come out of a fs grind. better stick with the classic basic tricks like rock'n roll, 50-50s, etc. that half cab is cool, but will ask for a lot of commitment and skills when you want to pull it off at coping height!
