Hey coach, what about the flat return straight down the middle? What are the benefits of this shot and when should it be used?
@ALLiaoBadmintonCoaching

Good question. The benefit of this shot that will be helping you get the third shot at the front easier and faster as long as the shot is going straight down instead of up. Good question, thank you for bring it out

Thanks for the response coach! I look forward to your future videos. I guess a similar question would relate to your service video where you highlight the 4 corners but didn't mention serving into their body or the shoulder on their racket-side to jam their return. Perhaps in the future you can add these nuances in! Great job.

Great video! How about a video on how both partners should position themselves on the court when receiving a serve? I noticed in most international tournaments, that the other partner on the receiving team is positioned at the center of the court (not on the opposite box), while the one receiving the actual serve is near the net.

How often should you hold the opposite grip and hit towards the opposing player's side? How often should you switch it up? Also to answer your question, the middle-area return is probably the best right?

Hey Thomas, not always. Usually I hold bevel grip so it helps me to twist to forehand and backhand faster.

Not necessary to be same feet and same arm forward for service return?
@utubertg
4 жыл бұрын
I hv the same question. Looks like you always step your non-racket foot forward when receiving low serve. What is the difference stepping racket vs non-racket foot forward when receiving? Also, is there a difference in our return strategy when opponent serves to different position (left, right, mid) on our service line? Tks.
@ALLiaoBadmintonCoaching
4 жыл бұрын
Racket foot or non racket foot the difference are racket foot your return could be aggressive but slower back to ready for next shot and non racket foot is more faster to be able to get ready for next shot

That's great coach, personally placement 6 is my go to as alot of doubles players stand behind the server and often compensate their backhand by standing closer to position 3.

The server and receiver must start in their own box before the serve. After the server’s racket contacts the shuttle and the shuttle is in the air, players can move and go anywhere. In the video, the receiver only moved immediately after the server’s hit, which is completely legal (and what I’m trying to learn).

Observe your opponent serve motion and catch the timing Then back foot needs to push forward reach your racket forward with your racket head up and connect with the shuttle by using your finger Hope that helps. Let me know if you have more question
