Those daisies!!! I have been playing this video in the background when I sit down to knit or crochet and I never ever expected to find those daisies! I found a piece in my aunt's grandma's old knits that had these flowers and I had no idea how she did them or which book she got the pattern from and I DID check her stacks on stacks of magazines. I wonder how she got those daisies when she got her magazines from Northern Mexico and South Texas. They look almost exactly the same but maybe made with a couple less spokes.

Finally finished watching all this! I hadn't realized the stashbusting has been going on for so long. It's really nice to see all the finished projects in such quick succession! Though the difficulties in equally quick succession make me glad I don't knit, it sounds terribly fussy having to have just the right sizes of yarn and needles for everything. I hope you're not beating yourself up too much over not making as much progress as you wanted! You still knit so many things! I'm trying to reduce my UFO pile this year because it's currently at 26, and I'm trying not to feel too bad about occasionally cutting something new out.

I feel you. 😢 Only for me it was a mouse 🐀🐁 infestation several years ago. Only store items in glass, metal or heavy duty plastic, mostly clear. I use baskets for everyday use, produce, throws, etc. but any long term is mouse proof. Dried wormwood is pretty to look at and is supposed to be a pest deterrent. Easy to grow perennial. If you plant around perimeter of garden is supposed to deter critters from munching your plants. Worth a try along with other measures. Only thing worse was dealing with fleas when I lived on yard of very sandy soil. Now I worry about bedbugs from other tenants. Wonder if wormwood keeps them away as well. 😊 TFS

If you are still looking for ways to use your yarn, maybe an option is to make things you can donate? That way you can make a video which generates some income but don't have to stick too much to things you would have to wear. You have done that during the winter, but maybe during other seasons there is also a demand? I know in the Netherlands almost no socks are donated.
@louisacapell
6 ай бұрын
As someone in the know, hand knit socks are not something economical or wise to donate. The homeless needing fresh socks will wear them until they can find new fresh socks and then throw the old ones away. Commercial, cheap socks are the way to go, 100% It's a bit like people who knit blankets for dogs in shelters. We understand where their heart is, but we simply cannot use them , dogs need cheap and easily laundered towels and woven blankets. Not hand knits , which can be dangerous and will certainly be quickly destroyed. Your best bet for hand knits is to chikdrens hospitals , NICUS and the like. Donations to those places are ALWAYS wanted and needed.

5:53:23 maybe you could weigh your bits and bobs pieces to get an accurate calculation of exactly what you have in your stash after a year of working on it. A good 'ol proper recount 😊

I think that's how I want to return to this project this year. With a proper review of the situation ☺️

One knits that got shrink in the washer is probably a size for an 18 doll to wear

I find myself working all day on yet another Sunday - this is the absolute perfect companion to keep me going, I’ve watched all the videos individually but this compilation is exactly what I needed today. Cheers for keeping me company while I slog through my mammoth pile of marking.

i loved watching this series so much last year! it inspired me to recreate my own version for 2024, and i'm quite happy to say that i've already made quite the dent in my sizeable stash. :) thanks for all of the inspiration and entertainment, claude! i hope this year is treating you well thus far.

oh also, when it comes to the tiny scraps that get left over, I really like making crochet sunburst granny squares! the center of them is only 16 treble(uk) stitches, so I feel like if I don't have enough yarn for that then I don't have enough left for anything and it's okay to get rid of. I'm making a blanket using them now to use up leftovers since I have a bunch of yarn thats the same weight

Your knitting is very beautiful. I've tried knitting just a basic knit stitch to try and make a scarf but i end up unravelling it

I should be cleaning my house but instead and I’m knee deep in your video!! I’ve never watched your channel before, but the idea of seeing you accomplish so many projects while stash busting is ADDICTIVE!! Good job KZitem on recommending this video to me 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This is exactly the long form video compilation I needed to keep me company today. I’m cleaning up from a big kitchen makeover project and preparing for a dinner party tomorrow. Crazy. Claude is always so insightful and generous…. Thanks 🙏 mucho. ❤
