I enjoy Dr. Berg's videos and when i went on the journey to adopt the Keto diet he was one of my main resources. I don't think Keto is for someone that has a sensitive gallbladder All of my immediate family have had their gallbladders removed and my mother passed away from 4 stage gallbladder cancer complications. I followed the diet to the T and believe me it I was extremely bloated. I didn't have proper movements for weeks. My friend that is a doctor helped me realize why it wasn't working for me. I had a lot of energy but I gained weight instead. I don't think there are enough studies about people with sensitive gallbladders. I think low carb diets are good but for me one that strictly relied on fat as my source of energy was a failure.

About intermittent fasting being good for gallbladder issues - I have read that research has shown that I.F. works if you can fast for at least 20 hours, then eat for four. This is because stones can form if you eat too often (for the reasons you mention here). Research has also shown the inter. fasting can cause stones if you don't fast long enough. The research I read they checked at 15 hrs, 18 hrs and then over 20 hrs and the test subjects were only helped and got no stones after fasting for 20+ hours. Is this true??

3:08 Yes, fat does matter. Less fat, less bile needed. The fat you eat should not overdo the bile you have. From years of having brunch around noon bring me 2 gallstones. Years ago I didn't believe skipping breakfast will cause any harm, but now I know, the best form of IF is end your dinner early like 5pm or 6pm, and eat breakfast around 8am or 9am, so you still can have 15-16 hours of fasting, while won't cause your bile to be too concentrated to become a chorlesterol stone. I'm all over this big time, **BIG TIME** because I have **unexplained right shoulder blade pain** I'll go ahead and cut down on fats (cutting out cheese & heavy cream & nuts altogether) , and meats 2 days, while going hog-wild on the Veggies. I'll add the fats back within a day or so, depending on the pain lessening. p.s. I saw this clip first thing this morning (after dealing w right shoulder blade pain for 1 week) and went straight to kitchen for kale & beet-top green smoothie w Tsp of pomegranate juice. Now it's dinner & I'm having my first "meal" of the day eating 4 cups of cooked mixed Veggies right now, w a bunch of garlic & curry powder (again, w beet tops & kale, parsley, carrots, zuccini, celery, olive oil, salt) p.p.s. I have been adding way to much heavy organic cream to my java throughout the day for the last 4 weeks, also; I have switched to a cheaper, weaker, ACV rather than Braggs brand, and; I recently restarted eating mixed nuts (costco fancy, salted) after not having any for a long-long time. p.p.p.s. If it is Ballbladder problem, I am thinking that the Nuts were enough to kick start this problem, and by doing the above I should know soon if this is the problem. I do allow for a treat in Sunday’s if I feel like I want one. Does anyone have experience with how long it takes for the gallbladder to heal? I feel like I’m never going to be able to eat again. I love Dr Berg...i caught the part where he was talking about adding fat to the protein eating a fatty piece of meat. I have been raised all my life with no fat low fat and guess what i am insulin resistant and still fat!!! So today i bought a nice fatty NY strip steak and a big piece of fatty salmon. I barely ate a few bites and was full already!...i have no carb cravings have cut out processed fast food and sodas and i am only one week in....i am a truck driver...so far this has eliminated my swollen legs i used to get from driving a d sitting so long. I am so happy!!! I would over eat on carbs and still be hungry or even HANGRY ... I have some eggs in the morning and i am full until the afternoon which is just crazy to me. I eat a lot of brussels sprouts and i love lentils which i am not fully keto yet cause i am just starting out but the fiber is super good for those bowel movements!

We cannot expect personal medical advice from Dr Berg , or any doctor in this way. If you want individual diagnosis and advice, you need to become a paying patient. These videos are all about general things. The onus is on you.

Is there a cure?? I have been taking lutein/zeaxanthin and Hawaiian astaxanthin (both from Costco) and no macular degeneration worsening in over two half years. I have heard of some acupuncture methods that help.

What about protein powder which is plant based and has lots of extra goodies making it more like a food? For example, has spirulina, probiotics, omega 3, etc... In other words, it's not just pure protein. Is this ok to use as a meal replacement?

Is a sluggish gallbladder linked to keto rash? If so intermittent fasting will make the rash intolerable

I have just paid for my cat to have an operation to have Gall Stones removed. It was expensive without insurance cover and I'm concerned about them forming again. My question to Dr Berg is could I give my cat bile salts with his food to help prevent them forming again? I know you are not a vet but I have tried to research a solution and can not find an answer. Thank you.
