That 59’ is a beast. Gorgeous vessel as well. But that thing will move. I don’t know how many people have gone 80-100 mph on water but it’s completely different than doing that on the street. My buddy who is a multi millionaire and moved down to Florida about ten years ago from VA loves boats and has had boats ever since I have known him which was back in 2000. He had some supercharged Yamaha’s jet ski’s or Sea-Doo’s whatever people call them and we use to take them out on the inner coastal in VA by route 13 which is the Kellam bridge tunnel and those things went 80-85mph on the water. That is scary going that fast on the water. It took me a couple sections just to get it up to full throttle because that’s fast. I can’t imagine what a rush it must be for those drivers doing 200mph on the water. It has to be insane

@paulmorrow8372

Shockingly, I think this is done to make maintenance easier over an inboard engine. All of these can be serviced from the top. They have a “hood” that pops up for regular maintenance. Fewer through holes below the waterline in the hull too. And if something goes wrong you can just pull off the motor and drop another on. Often with large inboards the boat is built around the engine. Overhauls/rebuilds have to be done with those motors in place many times.

I totally agree with the concept: I have 23 of the same shirt in my closet and 18 pairs of the same shoe.

The best part is that the only thing more engines give is acceleration. The max speed of the boat is dependent on the physics of the shape and size and weight of the boat.

My dad's buddy had 4 250hp outboards on a little ski boat, trying to get up on water skis he would romp that thing and you would fly out of the water superman style and just drag , it was ridiculous

When rich people spend money like that, dealers and retailers and designers and mechanics and fuel sellers all profit and are able to pay their bills. It's good for the rest of us when rich people 'waste' money. Thank God they do.
