Random tip re: "those pills just showed up one day and nobody claimed them but I don't want to throw away someone else's medication" I have a little bin that lives by my front door, and its only job is to keep things for someone else--things that got left at my house and/or things that I'm passing on/gifting. You have to also add a routine where when you're going to visit someone or when someone has visited and is leaving, to Check The Bin Every Time. It helps me so much. If there's a too big for the basket thing, I put a post-it inside with a note about what, for who, and where I stashed it.

Any of the t-shirts Brie loves but doesn’t wear you could always turn into a t-shirt quilt. I think there are places online that will make them for you if you send the shirts in. That’s what my sister and I did with all our college and high school shirts that we feel are sentimental and didn’t want to donate even though we don’t wear them.

I freaking love watching Brie go through stuff. It's hilarious because she runs between "OMG I love this" and "Why do I have this I hate it go to hell" with that one dash of "I'm showing you this because I'm bragging about it" (which, BTW, freaking sweet shirt, girl!) Then when you add Kristen's "You need to get rid of things!" and "Wait, that's brand new!" mixed messages, Ya'll are hilarious AND adorable together. Your place looks great, good job maintaining the organization!! Thank you for sharing, this makes me feel like I could do it too.

PSA: do NOT keep medications in your bathroom. Medications degrade in heat and humidity, both of which happen in a bathroom. Medications should be kept in a cool, dry place. Something I (as an adult child) have found works well is designating certain spaces as "mine to dirty" and others as "shared to keep tidy." Usually I do some kind of round-up at night where I gather my things and put them back in my space. EG. I paint in the living room, but the supplies need to go back to MY room by the end of the day. Because it's my room to do whatever in, I don't worry about finding a "proper" place. It's not the way my parents would do it, but because the mess is in my private space, they get to ignore it and I don't have to stress about cleaning EVERYTHING. Maybe that would work for your kiddos, too?

I just saw the first video a few days ago! I am currently in the process of moving and this has been so helpful. I’m somebody who takes a lot of meds, (I take 7 Rx daily and I have some otc I take regularly but not daily) and this is my system that works for me: I have a basket that I keep in a cupboard that has the bottles, and I use a weekly pill box to hold my daily meds, and I keep that on a table. When I refill every week, I just pull that bin out and fill the weekly box. I keep my OTC medications in a different bin, and vitamins on a shelf.

Doing an honest follow up was such a great thing because it shows how life happens and nothing just stays 'perfect'! Also as I'm watching this and stuff that both Juliana and Kristen talk about rings home when it comes my ADHD brain and it feels so good! Like I've struggled with object permanence and orginising everything pretty much my entire life (you won't be able to tell because I anxiety clean a lot and also I move around often so purges in stuff are a must) but all those things that were mentioned sound like so easy and workable solutions. None of the organising content stuff I worked before made me feel like I actually can do it, as much as this one did. They all just make me feel bad like it's something I will never ever, ever be able to do. And this one did just the opposite, this is doable, it's not out of reach at all. Thank you, thank you so much.

It depends on the collection. For one that size, I would personally keep them in the cases because you can glance over everything much easier than flipping every single page in a binder. And if you add something new, it's a lot easier to keep them in order if you still have the cases because you just shove the other ones over. In a binder, you have to take out all of the ones after where you want the new one to go.

@carriefernandez8705
2 жыл бұрын
I also thought about this, I was definitely a binder person back in the day. But the downside is that if you want to sell anything later on, the value without the cases is substantially lower. Also, with a collection that size, if you want to reorganize anything, it's a million times easier if you still have the cases because you can lay everything out in front of you fairly easily. The binder worked for me back in the day because I didn't have a huge collection, but I also distinctly remember how much of a pain in the ass it was to take them all out just to add a new one and keep them in whatever order I was using at the time.
@smargrave
2 жыл бұрын
@@carriefernandez8705 Well dvds are really becoming obsolete so if the collection will be worth anything, you may have to wait a decade or two before you could sell them for anything. Plus, I am sure Kristin is making bank with her channel so she and Bree probably would never have to sell their collection even if they wanted to. But discarding the cases does really help with clutter and you can expand your collection because you’ll have the space but that’s just my two cents. I have no regrets about my dvd binder mostly because I have moved several times and it a lot easier to move a binder full of dvds rather than multiple boxes of them.

Ok but where did Brie get her dresses in this video because I want them? They're cute and look comfy. Also thank you for these organizing videos, they're helping me get motivated for my purge and move and organize

If you're missing tons of socks, it's very likely that the washing machine is eating them because 1) the tumbler part is broken or 2) you're overfilling the loads and they end up in the machine entrails.

The organizer is right on with suggesting buying smaller packages. I'm seeing gallon size cartons of goldfish crackers in every room 😲. Are you prepping for a zombie apocalypse? I feel like those costco size packages are more for people with 6 kids or people with giant houses and walk-in pantries. For a two person household in a small apartment, maybe just get the normal 8 ounce size bags of goldfish. I love to nom some goldfish too (extra cheesy is my fave!) but it would take me 6 months to eat one of those massive boxes and they go stale a week after I opened them. So it's not really saving money if you can't use it up before it gets stale. Just get the little packs when they go on sale and the price per ounce will be comparable to the costco size boxes.

I think it would be interesting to have a video where Brie and Jen discuss the differences between being a more femme lesbian (Brie) and a more androgynous one (Jen). Like differences in experiences, how others treat you, etc
