Factory springs are linear which provides more accurate information on what is happening on the road, progressive springs is trying to be comfortable and then firms up when pushed hard. Feels floaty which I hate. H&R coilovers are firmer and kw is more comfort

Came back because it’s time for springs. To be clear, I don’t want the ride any stiffer than stock like coilovers. If I want to fill the gap and maintain most of the ride, would you recommend these then or regular h&r springs? Remember I want as close to stock as possible so it’s not jarring for my family! Lol. I am more scared of rubbing etc. I’m on pirellis and I think I’m going 12/15 mm spacers.
@myounz

Yo dude! Absolutely totally get that. I think primarily the super sports just sit lower so it’s a matter of what you’d prefer for height. I’ll be honest and say I occasionally scrape my lip on super sports and sometimes other parts so I’m sure the regular would avoid that a little. As far as spacers I think you’d be fine with 12/15 on pirellis. I have 15 all around in Michelin no issues.

Do the coil overs lower it too or do u need the springs too. Also what springs and coil overs should i get?
@zzwwss417

Its more of a coil overs vs springs conversation. They both lower the car
@myounz

yup you can either swap out your factory springs for lowering springs or do coilovers. Basically coilovers replaces the shock and spring and it’s all in one. I’ll do a in depth video once mine are here.

coilovers give you a ton of freedom to adjust stiffness and height. however, springs on these cars are typically $600-1300 while coilovers are $3500-9000, hence lowering springs is usually preferred as it suits most people’s needs.

the m3 is a performance sedan. its not a show car meant to be lowered. i dont understand why everyone wants to lower the car and affect the handling/suspension. it comes from the factory at the height its meant to be.
