Interesting video thanks JC! Ugly Stik rods have got quite a good reputation here in the UK. Amused that you seem to use much shorter rods in the USA than we do here! 7ft rods here are mainly used for boat fishing. My two light spinning rods are 9ft & 10ft, and for bait fishing from a beach, I have two 15ft rods. Some folk are using 16ft & upwards! Stay safe & well! 🎣🎣👍👍

Me too, so much can be done with that rod. Have the 9' Gx2 med action 4-20 Lb line rated and it is a nice bluegill, crappie and trout trout and catfish rod. Low and behold I came across your channel and that's exactly what you are using and reviewing. Fantastic video, I just came across your channel. I am right now in the market for a striper rod but I am torn between the new inshore Medium and Medium Heavy. I will be trolling freshwater and the fish are probably anywhere up to 30lbs on average. I feel like I'll need the heavy but I don't prefer the longer handle for trolling and I'd rather use the shorter. Do you think the Medium with the shorter handle will be strong enough for this type of fishing? Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with the type of fishing you will be doing. Those are some big fish, sounds like fun.

@@RadReelingFishing The fish are striped bass, most like to call them stripers. They are a ton of fun to catch, very strong fish. For reference they would probably fight like a Redfish, I used to do some saltwater fishing also but live in TN now. So with that info, do you think the Medium carbon inshore would be tough enough to handle a 30lb Redfish? Or should I really get the Medium Heavy? Thanks

@@NoBody-vs3lm If you're fishing in mostly open water this rod will handle 30 lb fish, but I'd recommend something more robust...along the lines of the Big Water Ugly Stik for 30 lb fish.
