Not tryna be mean but I don’t really think we should be normalizing people being plus sized and that’s just person opinion, it’s honestly your fault that you’re insecure about your body. You should be putting in the work and change what you feel insecure about that, and just because you think it’s hard doesn’t mean you can’t do it. I’m not tryna be disrespectful in any way but if you really feel bad about your body you should do something about it. You shouldn’t let you mind tell you otherwise
@lagomorphixx
11 ай бұрын
it's not normalizing it. it's bringing awareness towards it. no one ever said that being plus sized is healthy. but, there are still plus sized people that are healthy even though they aren't skinny. there are so many factors that play into it. and sometimes it's hard to change your weight because, again, a lot of factors play into it. certain health conditions can make it difficult to lose weight (hypothyroidism runs in my family so its hard for me to lose weight even though i'm active and am eating less and healthier), and there's also how fast someone's metabolism is as well. it all really depends. essentially, it's a lot easier said than done. but i do agree that if someone does truly want that change, they should work for it, but it's not their fault for being insecure. people shouldn't be made fun of for their body, skinny or not. it's extremely rude and can impact someone's mental health.

Not everyone can lose weight and I still 100 believe in just giving the facts about being overweight so people can make thier decision but not individuals forcing or pressing them. Being obese is usually an unhealthy lifestyle like heavy drinking or smoking and it needs the same mindset. We don’t go in bars and tell everyone they need to stop drinking now but it’s clear that’s it’s dangerous and people can make thier own decisions about it and once they do they still don’t need to be shamed or harassed.

It's so boring when the mole used to be the thing. Obviously they can just relay all their own lived experiences from that time in their life, how is anyone supposed to pick them out as the liar? It's a lot more entertaining when the mole has never been that thing and they have to do research and potentially mess up and give it away

I think the reason they were considering it was because this was a deep discussion where some of the contestants were really pouring their hearts out and felt like they were actually connecting with people who understood them. Then when they got eliminated it felt strange because essentially someone was doubting their experience when they were being vulnerable and opening up. That said, the point of the show is the eliminations, so maybe this isn’t the best format for emotionally charged topics. If they want to talk about more emotional experiences they can have a separate segment where they don’t eliminate people or have a mole, just have people share their experiences.

Derek (the mole) was great and he was super respectful towards everyone. People playing this game should not be feeling sorry to vote someone out. They also shouldn't "attack" when they find out someone was lying. It is the game, you know what you sign up for.

@@chrisandtimothy I have to agree, especially in this setting. Derek kind of honourably prevented this to be a painful experience. That’s an amazing idea! Maybe they could have people who were overweight and lost it and people that were thin that gained weight. Both would have the experience of living a plus sized and thin life. Few of them were SO mad, when they took their blind folds off. This IS a game, how can you be angry at someone who both, played the game strictly to it's rules _and_ was honest and respectful the whole way through? It seems that he won most of them on his side with that last word he (luckily for once) was this time allowed to give at the end of the competition, but still... there was some anemosity there that was totally uncalled for.

Because its a touchy subject, because they didnt know at that point that he hadn't lied, and because at the end of the day - regardless of the touchy feely speech - he has won, and it made them feel like losers after they thought they bonded with him - I don't mean he won the game - I mean he won the skinny competition, that seems so impossibly out of reach for them. I mean he is slim now with a capital S. Him winning, kind of reinforces their feelings as losers. It just does.
