People always want to give tips, tricks, and routines to try… but few people talk about the MENTAL side to this game. This was good stuff as usual, Jaani. Thank you.

Thank YOU! There is a reason, why these topics don't get covered, and it's the lack of attention. Quick fixes get all the views, so naturally people focus on them. I knew this video will be my least watched but I wanted to make it for the few who want to see it.

Your approach is simple but understandable and highly visual, which suits my learning style perfectly. I'll definitely share awareness of your channel with my disc golf friends. Please keep up the great work. Your work makes it so much easier for the rest of us Kiitos kaikista mahtavista videoistasi.

That moment when Nate told Nikko to cut it out is one of my favorites. A card member having a shit fit definitely can bring down the rest of the card. I'm sure Nate felt like Nikko's shitty attitude was starting to affect him (because that is about the most serious I have ever heard Nate sound). Just an all time great moment as a big NP fan (and not a huge NL fan.)

Interesting thoughts on the targeting: release the tension. RobbieC is know for smiling when he puts, after he makes his decision and picks his spot. His next action is to smile. Interesting that you both include this. Super difficult to execute this, especially when I have this sinking feeling inside, this anxious thought. But this leads to a question: to release this tension and inner turmoil, how do we still grip the putter with enough pressure?
@dgspindoctor
Жыл бұрын
Oh, like the smile thing!! Positive vibes will follow for sure. The grip... well, you don't need much tension in the arm or fingers. The should rest on your finger tips, no need to squeeze it.

I have BIG troubles with long puts, around 30ft 40f 50ft / 9m 12m 15m and beyond those puts. I always try to do too much, and then my putter goes high without power and always fades to the left way before the basket. I want to put like pros, not too high with long and steady glide straight. How do I do that? Im trying to put like calvin, short arm and fast stop to gain spin

I'm always looking for a "trigger" to get me going through my setup routine. Most of my missed putts are because I rush the shot. But, if I go through my setup routine, the odds of making the putt goes way up. But, often, I forget to go through my routine. Especially if I'm playing with someone and we are chatting away...

There are SO many styles and every one of them can be equally good. It's the one that you feel most comfortable you should choose, and the one that let's you move without even thinking about it. There are some things to practice always and to know how to move, but eventually it's more about the confidence, resilience, perseverance to make the putts that count.
@discgolfamateur2175
Жыл бұрын
@@dgspindoctor True that! I have experimented with many different styles, can not say I feel more that more confident with a push vs spin put. Doing put training in back yard is I feel is almost totally different than on the course. On the course, the stance is always different, as is surroundings, bushes and trees. This was though good content!
@joeblow2426

If you have your putting form mechanics down for whatever distances you can be accurate, making say, 75-80% of your putts while practicing, and you do substantially worse (say 15% or more) while playing a round where the putts are fairly similar to the conditions you have been practicing, I would say mental error is occuring.
