Every car has minor issues. Seems like the S3 is a wonderful car.Get this- My low mileage 2008 9-3 has gotten for no apparent reason, super quick. Didn’t do anything to it. Same gas station. Weather not a factor. I’m very happy. Just another example of “ quirky”. Thanks for posting.

Saabs adapt to your driving style. Drive slow it goes into granny mode. Drive sporty it goes into Schumacher mode. You can reset it by diconnecting the battery for 15 minutes.

Thank you for showing us your car. For me it would be such a "boring" car, wouldn't be as emotional as a Saab :) my friend has an audi and it's fast, but I felt nothing really at all driving it, if it makes sense :)

Nah I've had 5 SAABs 3x 9000s and 2x 9-3 Aeros OG and NG. 2 of my 9000s were 2.3T one was a CS mapped to 320Hp and the other was an Aero. The 9000Cs2.3T was and still is easiy the Fastest Car I've owned. That was an excellent car to drive for two reasons Your level of engagement increased as the Turbo spooled when it spooled it wiped the smiles off the faces of Subaru and Porshe owners very quickly. The 3 Aeros I had after weren't as engaging to drive mainy power and power delivery. The 9000Aero at 245BHP spooled smoothly and power delivery was more constant than the CS which felt more like you'd been kicked in the Ass by a giant in lead boots when it started to make boost. The OG 9-3Aero (which I still have) Is like quite a direct feeling car and you're very aware of how fast it goes. You're also very aware that you are about to loose the back end on a wet or slippery road (I've had it facing the wrong way a few times)Its not an exciteing car its a car that you need to tink about driving when its wet if you want to keep it on the road. The NG 9-3 Aero min was mapped to 260Hp with 380Nm torque It was more a more civilized Driving experience Handled better was faster as smoother on power delivery. Let down by Cheap GM parts and bad electrics. So Last year I sold it and Bought as my daily an Audi A4 2.0TDi Quattro ( Rather than the 3.0TDi A5 my Mrs objected to, that's arriving when I sell the other 9-3Aero) 177PS 380Nm Torque (least Horse power I've had in nearly 25) years. Its not Fast 0-60 is 7.8sec but it goes round corners on rails 10-20mph faster than the SAAB could manage The 50-80 acceleration is on par or better than the SAAB But then it dies off and it ambles up to top speed. Meanwhile the SAAB would have took off and left it for dead shorty before landing you a speeding ticket or a Ban. I've kept my og 9-3 Aero because I still like it (and Still regret selling my 9000Aero.) when I had the OG and NG 9-3s I took turns dailying them The OG on nicer Sunny days as its a 1999 car. I couldn't decide which was better the OG was more Raw and engaging (more drivers car) The NG was boringly Quick and although faster didn't feel like it was a more refined drive. I still drive my OG at Weekends Compared to the Audi its like driving a supermarket trolly with a wonky wheel. I still love the thing and think it drives really well for a 22year old car But The Audi is better built, Quieter better handling better equipment less to Tax and delivers twice the MPG of the SAAB and gets me for A to B just as quickly in more comfort whats not to like?

Im really wondering how good the mid range acceleration is on this thing ( I mean like 40-70 mph or sth like that), as saabs are known to be really fast on those speeds. Does it continue the same insanity it delivers with the 0-60, which seems just crazy quick for that amount of power?

Man when is that going to the body shop? That is heartbreaking to see. I agree with a lot of what you said, my car has the 18" wheels also. They aren't bad looking, but the 19" are more aggressive. I can't complain about the brakes, mine has 63k miles and still on original rotors and pads. No touch screen = no fingerprints. The control wheel is intuitive and works well enough with CarPlay.

On the rims, it looks like you could fit a set of Saab rims, using wobble bolts and center bore adapters. Saab 18 inch Aero's and 235/40's would be the same diameter and poke out about 14mm, which might look pretty sick on that Audi. I am thinking a set of Aero 5spokes or 08 turbines Might be very interesting...

Thankyou for sharing your wishlist of tech and style improves you would want and liked Audi (or original purchaser) to have installed/improved in/on the car. Owning an 04 Aero I pretty much don't have much of the modern tech though I share similar grips about my car. Front park sensors for the same reasons Additional gears in auto (also one that changes through gears faster) 18 inch wheels (rare in SAAB in Australia) Lighter more effective brakes One additional one I will add is premium leather option which is also rare in Australia. Though your S3 and my 04 SAAB are many years apart and are cheese and chalk when compared as your S3 is superior in so many ways we appear to have very similar issues. Don't know if that is a coincidence or is telling us something about cars and or people in general. Anyway I will stop my dribble and let you get back to life, and thankyou for doing your videos and keeping us all up to date on your journey with your cars. Paul

Well...that did not take long. Seems like it took a lot longer to drum up any negatives about the ARC and T-X. ;-) Nonetheless when a saab is no longer available, Audi is my next choice. Their verts are drop dead sexy. I bet it is interesting pinball zigzagging down a highway lane! 3k at 80 for a 2017 is a bit high for that much power, seeing as that is the same as my 01 vig, but I bet it pulls HARD at 70 or 80, just like the vig!
