@Okie Foodie King if you have a cargocover to cover your cargo on the back, so nobody can see it. It can be removed and stored where the spare tire is. Lift up were the spare tire is an you can see the fittings where it goes and clips it. Put the cover back over spare tire and all it good. Basically, you would want to store the cargo cover when backed seats are down for more room.

If you want to use conventional cruise control instead of radar, just hold the cruise control on button down for a couple of seconds until the icon changes then you have the conventional cruise control too. Knew about the features except the rear floor - I too have the rubber mat. - LTA is a pain if you live in an area where lines are not well maintained. It works, then doesn't work. Not good if you rely on it. Centering can sometimes bounce you back and forth as well. - Adaptive cruise is great - I actually use it quite a bit - but occasionally find myself behind someone doing 5-10 mph under my set point and don't notice that right away, until I see a whole lot of cars passing me. :) Thanks for the video, though!

Thanks for this, we are picking up a 2020 Rav4 in a couple of days. We already have a number of the features on our Toyota Yaris. With the auto main beam dipping, on the Yaris you don't need to turn the light control to main beam. It does that automatically when you press the switch. The only thing I don't like about the auto braking if you get too close to the car in front, is that it brings the brake lights on every time, which could be annoying for drivers behind.

One more thing about the back part of the car, we have the rubber piece like in the video, $100 extra bucks, but what I have noticed is that you have to be careful how you load the back up, what I mean is that if you put heavier items in the middle of the back, it has a tendency to have the piece under the rubber mat to spread the area where the carpeted piece sits. So my plan is to use the rubber mat as a template and cut out a 1/2” piece of plywood and sandwich it between the carpeted piece and the rubber mat. I’m hoping this will fix the issue. I have ask the dealer about this and showed them what it does and they have no clue what to do

My lane centering wasn’t working - turns out it wasn’t on. Yes, the LTA was active - but unless you turn lane CENTERING on - it won’t auto-center/auto-drive. To turn it on (or off) you have to go into your car settings, and under LTA you can go into extended settings. But yeah - not all cars come with it on by default!

Your Toyota key fob's continuous broadcasting can be turned off by depressing and holding the lock button while pressing the unlock button twice. To return to regular continuous signal broadcasting, depress any button. While your key fob is not broadcasting, you will save the battery and prevent modern-day theft of your Toyota's auto-unlock signal.

The on/off feature should be something that you have to turn on not something you have to turn off. For a company that has the reputation of having the smartest engineers and personnel, they messed up on this.

Cruise control is so important in Australia because speed limit is strictly enforced. If the road said 60kph and you go 66, the well warned but numerous speed cameras will help you to correct your driving habits with some steep fine. I basically keep the cruise control on all time as long as I am above 40kph so I do not have to glance at the speedo every few seconds.
@okiefoodieking

Oh man that sounds like it is super strict over there. I don’t like that they have cameras everywhere and fine you. 😮
@egaskrad

@@okiefoodieking dont worry. by law they will tell you where exactly the cameras are... you don't have to worry about an undercover police car pulling you over. all you have to do is to pay super careful for the speed camera signs, which are everywhere, if you really really want to speed.

the steering is not desinged for "auto pilot", it is just for driving assist, the system does not allow the driver to hand free for a bit of time, lane tracking is a safty just in case

I was scared to use the radar cruise control along with the lane adjustment in the beginning when i bought my new RAV4. Till I had a 3000 mile road trip, I tested these functions with my foot near the brake paddle for 3 hours, then I trusted these functions. It worked great. But still..... I feel comfortable putting my foot on acceleration pedal and hands on steering wheel.

Lane assist is not self steering. Its there to nudge you as a warning. Your job of steering and watching for traffic is still your job, these are assisting devices. Taking your hands off the wheel is nuts. PS: I am on number 3 RAV4 trail. 2020, 2019, and 2023.

@@daveroberts7295The lane centering allows you to take your hands off the wheel. It’s designed for situations where you may need those extra couple seconds to use your hands for something else like grabbing something that dropped or something. It’s not for completely letting go but for slightly longer intervals than without it. It is especially useful in straight roads where instead of having to nudge back and forth you can just let it do it’s thing for a few seconds
@daveroberts7295

@@HaiRune Nonsense. The job of driving a car is to be completely in control of the vehicle at all times, letting go of the wheel is not part of complete control. Dropping what, your cell phone, that's illegal. There are only a couple of things yu should be doing while driving, control of the car and looking out for hazards. Looking out through that bit of glass in front of your nose. Letting go of the wheel for a few seconds is a ticket to hell, loss of situational awareness, loss of life. Tell you insurance company that you think that is normal and see what they say.
