There should be another tip: -Think before you do. When a commander in WvW is leading some serious zerg and doesn't want a ranger or thief in squad, don't call him toxic or even worse, don't create a thread on reddit about that. There is a reason why rangers and thiefs aren't taken over other classes. Also, look up what is the role for each class in a zerg. And no, wanting you to run a proper build for your class either in WvW zerg or in raids isn't a form of elitism. And no, I understand that when one thinks "ranger" they often think "bow" but please, don't use a bow in PvE group content. Your team mates will be thankful for that. -It's always good to prepare. Before attempting a raid or a dungeon; read about it. Ask questions but also look for answers yourself. That applies to any content in GW2 really. If you want to play casualy, that's cool, no shame in that but please understand that some people in some game modes expect you to play properly. You have always a choice of creating your own group which you are more than welcome to create. Which leads me to another thing. -Terminology It's good to understand many shortcuts like: "inc", "zerg", "mid", "bunker build" etc. so you can understand many LFG (Looking For Group) messages or other things. For the basics you can see the meanings here: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Abbreviations -Leveling Leveling may be a long process that some find boring but let me make this clear. The game actually starts at level 80. At this point, core Tyria and the leveling from 1 to 80 is more of a tutorial than anything else. Always build for power, then precision, then ferocity. If you are dying often then, instead of ferocity, take vitality. If you are still dying easily then sorry but it's learn to play issue. -Understand that GW2 isn't FF14 or ESO. There is no such thing as a tank in the game. I mean, sure, there are tanking mechanisms in several raids and you do need a character that needs to tank but the point is, you will never be tanky. No amount of toughness is going to save you from powerful attack. The defence in GW2 is active and not passive. Sure, you can have damage reduction from boons and what not but in the end when you see a big ass AoE, don't stand in it longer than you have to. Certain classes will fit certain roles better like Druid for healer in Raids and Fractals, or Weaver for DPS but there is no Holy Trinity of DPS, Tank and Healer in GW2 -Camera and controls The camera in GW2 that you are given in default controll settings isn't the only one you can use. Try action camera. You can find it in keybinds. Look for "Toggle Action Camera" option and bind it to a button. Try the camera, you may like it. It was a game changer for me, where I sucked as a thief before and now I rock with it. Oh and few programs that you may find useful: d912pxy - a program made for Guild Wars 2 that makes the game work on Direct 12 instead of 9 (at least provisationally) plus it allows you to change few other things which may result in inproved fps (not necesarily higher, for me it made the frames much more stable which resulted in way better comfort of playing). www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/ak0mqs/d912pxy_directx12_for_guild_wars_2/ ARC DPS - a tool to measure yours and your squadmates' damage. It allows you to see how you perform in comparison to others. This tool is often used, especailly in WvW and Raids. While I hate doing that I need to remind that this tool is there not to have a reason to bully others. BUT! Also when people see that your DPS is bad thanks to that tool and they don't want you in their group, don't call them toxic or elitist. Improve, create your own group or join a training guild which will prepare your for the more challenging content. www.reddit.com/r/gw2raiders/comments/7acvya/setting_up_arcdps/ GW2 Radial Menu - do you find manual mount swapping tedious? You refuse to bind 5 different keys for mounts since half of your keyboard is already taken? Or do you just want an easy acces to consumables? Radial Menu is here to help. It allows you to bind items and mounts to a new, easy to open menu, that allows for quick swapping and use of any item. github.com/Friendly0Fire/GW2Radial All of the above are 3rd party programs. I and many other players use it without any problem. Anet even gave official response that they do not have a problem with those programs. I use those for a year now without any complications. But despite that I need to, for legal reasons, warn you that you use the programs on your own risk. I didn't have any problems nor anybody I know but still. It turned out a bit longer than I expected.

@@Ethan7s I also suggest biniding it to an easily accessible button (I use shift) so you can switch between normal and action camera when needed. Like, for example, when you want to shoot bombs behind you from shortbow when kiting as a thief.

I've returned after not playing for years, and one of the best qof feature I could think of is the action camera, I like action combat mmos where you dont have to hold right click and gw2 previously not having action cam is honestly disappointing since the game was gorgeous even back then. I had to use a script just to add a 3rd party action camera that was still clunky. Anyway I hope more qof features will come like the recent dynamic hud

How i became a good player was pvp. Back then i was dogshit at pvp, but then i got invited to a pvp guild and they tought me how to utilize my class and over many months and an expansion later i gained decent knowledge of all and great of some classes and even in pve i started doing things first try through instinkt and perfect knowledge of my build. Core point of this: Learn. Your. Class. Look into every possibility, alternative, playstyle both defensivly and offensivly. Example many say Thief is a bad class because they simply pick a metabuild and play without knowing what they do, yet i sit on my thief, facetanking things, guardians cant. Learn to know yourself before you know your enemy.

you could also add to learn events like tarir and other events where you need to know mechanics. Today I was playing in south. There were 30 ppl, yet there was like 3 ppl only who pushed exlted bomb. It failed, ofcourse. Its waste of time and if ppl knew what to do, more ppl would help and it could be a win. You could also add to keybind build change. I keybinded traits change to NUM1 and equip change to NUM4 to quickly set Tempest with S/W and NUM2 and NUM3 to quickly set weaver with S/D. Anaway, very nice video.People shouldnt be lazy and they should read descriptions of skills, traits, or go to settings and play with options to fit their playstiles and everything you said in the video.

Fantastic as always . Tnx for this guide. Is it posible to create macro s ( jump dodge ) on mouse or keyboard ( i they have macro keys )
@Cellofrag
4 жыл бұрын
Edit : I checked about ArenaNet Statement : Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol. This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions. For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok. You cannot program a macro to perform the same or multiple actions on more than one account at a time. You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere.

Ona side note though, has anyone used "Latency Optimizer" from badosoft? They're not a subscription base and I only need to buy the product once.
