this is lovely and so helpful. I'm going to time my next painting and try larger brushes. Thank you for making this :)

Glad it helped! It might not be one of the most fun tips but it does get results! 😊

I agree with all of them, painting the same thing 20 times, I understand it helps, but I personally get bored of painting the same animal, I don’t know in the future, but for now,I try to paint different animals, in each painting, thanks for the tip👍

Being kinda newer to these ideas you’re presenting, I would’ve LOVED after each idea to see you EXAMPLE that concept. I don’t really get what you mean by being loose and how to use the bigger brushes. I really need a visual of how those concepts work and how they turn into your finished pieces. :)

I love your wildlife paintings, they are so realistic! I have a question, what brushes do you recommend to do the final long hair details like for furry dogs or lions? =)
@DanielleTrudeauStudios

Thanks! I love using a small round brush or a liner/script brush for those final hair details! The key is also in how you thin out your paint, I always add a bit of paint thinner to my oils at the very end to make sure the lines are nice and smooth 😊

How do you know where the important details should be? I love to paint cows, their heads specifically. And I like to make them cute so they usually will have eyelashes. Where would important details be on her face or head?

Great question! It varies depending on the art, and what you want to achieve, but for the most part when painting animals I always put the most detail into the eyes and the center of the face. For your adorable cows, those beautiful eyes and lashes are definitely a feature that should be celebrated, so I would put the detail there! 😊
