The rearing I would save for actually liberty horses! I wouldn’t train like a barrel horse or like a pleasure horse to do that but the pick up/bring/ and sit and smile ❤️❤️❤️

You should! These are great to teach any horse as it’s super important for bonding. (Liberty training in general, not specifically these)

A new reason to allow you're horse into your house: You're on the couch and you're thirsty, your water bottle is approximately 12 steps away from you, however you are too lazy. "Horse!" **points at waterbottle** "Bring it!" This is how to deal with life as a semi lazy person this is a joke yall. please don't let your horse in you're house in most circumstances.

Is teaching my horse to rear bad?? Even tho I'm teaching him liberty bc I'm being told it's bad bc he'll start doing it towards humans.

It can be dangerous if you're not experienced. I would NEVER teach a horse to rear if you're not 100% certain that you will keep this horse FOREVER. That means if you're ever unable to care for him, euthanising before selling. If you were in that situation, is that a choice you could make? If not, don't teach your horse to rear. You also need to be very clear with your cues and make sure he only offer that behaviour in a safe situation. You should be very experienced with teaching other, less dangerous behaviours. Can you set up the environment and train the behaviour such that your horse never offers it when you're not asking? Try teaching him to smile (or some other safe, unknown trick) ONLY when you're 6 metres away and you give a specific cue. If he ever offers the smile without these two conditions, don't teach him to rear - you need to work on your training skills first. Rearing can be very fun and empowering for your horse. They enjoy it a lot, and I definitely don't think it's a bad skill to teach. However, you HAVE to take into account that if your horse is sold or handled by someone else and rears for them, he can be abused, beaten, or killed for it.
