Damn. I'm going to court on Monday because my landlord locked me out, changed the locks, and when I called the cops, she still just refused to give me the key and let me in. To my astonishment, the cop wouldn't arrest her. He just said that it was a civil matter. I was never evicted, and my property is still in there. So, I filed my lawsuit. i know it's a bit off topic, but I thought I'd tell my own little horror story since the timing is uncanny lol.

Agree. And a follow up check-in with the company should be standard procedure (SOP) each time a realtor shows a property alone to a new/unknown client. The realtor’s safety is monitored and the company covers it’s ass. I’d be shocked if that was NOT in place mandatorily nowadays if for no other reason than to cover the company’s legal, insurance and HR requirements. Making a mental note to ask my realtor friend about this… 🏡🗝️👩🏼🔧👍

We're trained to remain calm under the most intense call circumstances. We have to be firm, yet compassionate in order to relay any instructions, get information, etc. I'm Scottish and worked both civil and military emergency call handling/dispatch. Two calls I'll never forget - a woman finding her baby unresponsive and I had to relay baby CPR instructions until the ambulance arrived. The second was someone shooting themselves in front of others. The sound of a gunshot is something that a. You don't expect to hear in the UK; and b. Sounds completely different over a telephone. I am unable to work now due to health issues and injuries, but as stressful as 999s were, I miss the calls and helping. I miss admin even more. Lol My (late) husband was a policeman in Edinburgh, when it was still Lothian and Borders, and he had some horrific stories to share. Some of which he was given awards/commendations for.

My landlord is the local county council. My door latch doesn't work properly, the diverter valve on the central heating boiler barely works, the fluorescent light in the kitchen is broke, the bathroom and kitchen extractor fans are broke, theres a damp problem in the walls and the window frames desperately need changing from wood to PVC. I'm not allowed to touch it and they just won't come and fix any of it. All of this from a property built in 2011 and I pay £600 a month.

About the first story, there are basic spiritual cleansing practices that you could do to ward spirits that would put ghost believers at ease. Like sage burning, or placing runes of protection.
