Video Notes !! (You can use these for your own as well, I don't mind!) 0:00 - 0:30 - intro 0:30 - 1:11 - Embrace the Pratball Effect You don't need to be "perfect" to be liked by others. The Pratball Effect says that those who show their mistakes are more likely to be liked by others than those who are seen as "perfect"-perfect people could even be more disliked than others. Imperfection = Relatable 1:12 - 1:50 - Up From Your Screens Looking at your phone while in a conversation with someone makes them think that you're not listening/getting distracted. So put your phone away and listen to the other person-or that person may grow a disliking to you. (Just an addition: People love being listened to! So if you don't want that person to dislike you, try listening to them more.) 1:51 - 2:48 - Follow up with Others When people share their plans in the near future, they might be worried/excited about it that they feel the need to share it. People will think that you actually care and that you're actually interested in them. 2:49 - 3:37 - Crack a Smile People who express more emotions on their faces are more likeable-smiling more so. Smiling actually helps people to build social bonds and be more likeable. 3:38 - 4:41 - Speak up Talking more (when first introduced) imprints a postive impression in others. Of course, you should let other people steer the conversation from time to time and listen to them as well. 4:42 - 5:29 - Don't Suppress Showing Stress Showing signs of stress can cause people to react more positively and empathetically to you. It engages others to cooperatively interact rather than competitvely. Don't be ashamed of stress! It's natural and everybody experiences it atleast once in their lifetimes. 5:30 - 5:49 - Conclusion 5:50 - 6:23 - Cute Psych2Go Plushie!! And always remember, even if it's harsh, it's important to know that not all people will like you-some even hate you 😢-but that's alright! Because there will always be people in your life who will love the way you are ❤

The following up with others really applies a lot to one of my best friends. He is very attentive. He often just checks in on me, perhaps even a little more than I’d like. He often refers to previous conversations, which makes it evident that he is a great listener. He remembers my birthday, as well as birthdays of other friends and my close family. I really care about the short list of people who are absolutely closest to me. I value fewer deep connections over multiple ones that are more shallow.

Hey Psych2go, thanks for the upload! I’ve been hanging with this channel for a while now. I really love learning about psychology and I plan on majoring in it for college, so these videos never fail to pique my interest. One thing I particularly love is your team’s ability to keep up with trends to make your videos more entertaining. The “he’s just like me fr” comment and occasional character cameos (like Komi or Zenitsu) makes the videos less stuffy and more intriguing and fun to watch. I simply adore how easy it is to learn things without growing bored. Keep up the wonderful work!❤️❤️

@@KnaGGelMan Same here, besides my mom (God bless her) i dont really have anyone, i aint got no hobbies or shit that makes me interesting, life for me is literally being a wage slave and succumbing to nothingness. And yet there is always a next day, meaning there is a possibility for change. Especially at such low points there is plenty of stuff we all could do to improve our situation instead of bathing in our sadness and accepting our loneliness. Its a road full of trial and error but eventually it will pay off, offing yourself on the other hand, while seemingly the less worst predicament compared to the potential suffering we dread the next day might bring is an understandable thought process but in reality is just a sad loss of a human being that despite what he feels would have had to capacity to be a beacon not only for himself but potentially others around him, people that hopefully will see the beauty in your person and respect and love you accordingly. Dont give up King, i believe in you.

I think you are going about it wrong. If you convey your lack of ability with a gentle but mildly self depreciating manner, normal social humans will give grace in future interactions. The key is being able to take social normative people into that 1 on 1 space to be able to express this. Doing this outside of a group interaction makes it a lot easier. Don't try to cover up your lack of perception or understanding. You asked this question, maybe you give yourself less credit than you deserve.

I can relate to #2 and #4. My friend is always on his phone and he says he only gets on it when he’s bored and I continued in that conversation. Eventually I said “You must be bored because you’re on your phone” and he immediately put it away. Also I struggle to show emotion and I can easily hide them or make it seem like I don’t feel a certain emotion. I don’t do it on purpose usually. I get just as excited as someone about something but only in my mind and not as an expression.

I know that in these topics eye contact keeps getting mentioned, but I really struggle with it and it's NOT because of shyness, though I do find eye contact as uncomfortable (similar to a stranger getting too close). I can look people into the eyes but it doesn't come naturally and that's the problem: I can't maintain it while I do something else. It suffices for me to think of my response, or imagine what the person I listen to says and my eyes drift off.

I boy do I struggle to often speak up when meeting new people. I don’t like to be on the forefront. I can rattle people’s ears off, but that’s only when they’re very close to me, when I overhear someone talking about a particular topic, or when the environment is right, like visiting my psychologist. But I really need some kind of incentive in order to reach that point. I need an incentive in order to unveil the real me. Or some of it. I’ve recently been to Uni for a trial course of English/American Studies for a day. I liked what I experienced and got off well with a few people. It felt especially nice since I quit my study political science, which I didn’t enjoy as much as I’d wanted. I didn’t like the way it was structured and I just couldn’t really find people who could become friends. I admit, that’s mostly my fault. I ought to be the one who approaches someone when I want someone want that particular someone. I’m kind of picky in doing that in terms of making friends and I can imagine it being similar with romantic interests. I’m not picky because I feel superior or anything. It’s just that I need to know if someone’s a keeper. And that takes time getting to know one another. Perhaps I should allow myself more room to try out, possibly stumbling or even falling in the process. That doesn’t make it easy, though.

If your natural personality doesn’t attract people, it should be fine. Nobody should be changing themselves for other people. Be happy with who you are. You’ll attract people anyway. If anything, this video shows how to be deceptive.

I like how nome of the tips are mamipulative... Like stuff that youd ONLY do because of it affecting people's subconscious Its stuff that clearly would be great attributes of a friend... Being attentive, follwing up, expressing how you feel, etc.
