I keep thinking - surely there's nothing else I can do differently when cross stitching - and then you make another video! Thanks for this one - the method for starting with an odd number of threads was REALLy useful!

I watched your TicToc video a few months ago to learn how to do the loop start with odd number of threads. I had to watch it multiple times as the video and instructions was very fast. However, I mastered the technique and my project turned out great! It was nice seeing the method for odd numbers in a loop start again, at a slower pace😊

Glad to hear it's been working out for you, and I agree, it's nice being able to slow down in long-form videos and have a chance to talk through the techniques in more detail! Thank you for watching both there and here 🤗

I really appreciate the video. I actually learned a few new tips and tricks. I've never used knots on the back;: it will keep your fini see h project from lying flat in the frame. Thanks again for the tips!

This is SUCH a helpful video! The waste knot and front loop start have been game changers for me since I took up cross stitching again after putting it aside over 30 years ago before there were videos available for tips and tricks. You demonstrated all of the methods so beautifully, and I must tell you that your background is AMAZING! Is it a print of some sort, or did you make it yourself?

It looks like a peg board, but not sure what was used for thread. That was the first thing I noticed too.

Thank you so much for watching! The background is a pegboard wall that I painted white and then used black paint for the X's. I followed a pattern but modified it quite a bit for the look I was going for - it was a labor of love but I was so happy with how it turned out!! 💜

No specific reason, just a habit of stitching 🥰 I find as soon as my thread starts to twist at all I'll start railroading stitches without thinking about it!

Hi, thanks for sharing this, it's incredibly useful 😊 Can I ask - did you railroad just the last stitch in the final example - where you made the 2nd leg over the pin stitch?
@atomheartcrossstitch
10 ай бұрын
Yes but not for any particular reason! It's just habit and wanting to make sure the stitch laid nice and straight over the pin stitch 😊 Whenever I stitch with two strands I tend to railroad the top half of my stitches, but it's not a 100% type of thing. Hope that makes sense!!
