No cheats/save-states, no autofire.

Tatsujin is one of the most popular titles of Toaplan's golden era, the game follows the formula set by Hishouzame and Kyukyoku Tiger but adding their own peculiarities. One of the features of Tatsujin is in the large number of sub-bosses and also a better work on the bosses themselves, an aspect that was a bit lazy in previous Toaplan games. Another peculiarity are the many popcorn/zako enemies coming from behind, forcing you to not only focus on the top but also the bottom of the screen.
In order to clear Tatsujin it's mandatory to take in consideration the bombs, the game gives you a lot of them so when in trouble don't doubt in bombing, also it's important to manage them properly to destroy sub-bosses/bosses quickly. As for the best weapons they are the red shot and the blue laser, the red shot has good firepower but limited range so it's useful for the first 2 or 3 stages, the blue laser covers a big part of the screen killing popcorn immediately, so it's essential for the second half of the game. The green weapon is useless (there is always one of these in Toaplan games). Finally as usual in Toaplan games, the japanese version is more difficult than the western versions.
This run went well until the fourth stage where I lost the first life, from then on I crawled through the checkpoints until I reached the final boss and killed him with the last life!
