Love the GCN workouts on Sufferfest, if you could make some of them (like for instance, this one!) that would be awesome

How many brick workouts would you recommend doing each week, I’ve just started incorporating them into my training and really enjoy it but don’t want to over do it at the same time!

Hi Dornella. If you're training regularly and happy with your current fitness level, I would advise one a week. Otherwise, limit to one every other week. Thanks

@Global Triathlon Network - During the winter off season, how often would you do this session?
@markthrelfall3577

Good question. Some people stay away from these types of sessions during the off-season, but actually one a week, or every other week, can have huge benefits through the winter/off-season

I like the idea but this session seems to lack structure in that it doesnt have a specific zone or intensity that it is working. 12mins @ftp on the bike with 50 seconds of sprinting and then the run has 2mins of marathon, half marathon, 10 mile, 10km and 5km pace ? the science behind training would conclude that it is better to use each workout for a specific zone and tax that zone sufficiently where as this workout doesnt really hit any zone long enough for adaption to be high. Just the thoughts of a sports scientist, sorry if i sound really boring.

Cookie monster absolutely, in theory working by zones is really good. I used to do tons of sweetspot workouts, and the like. However, this is focussed on the time crunched amongst us, and something a bit different. Trust me, there is still a huge benefit to sessions like this. Just working at or below your target race pace will not improve your power or speed range. You need sessions like this

@@markthrelfall3577 I agree that sessions of all intensity are needed, never said to work at or below race pace. I get that this probably needed to be "entertaining" like zwift workouts are, but maybe could do specific guided workout videos where you do a series ? e.g. v02 max bric set or sweetspot equivelant blah blah blah.....

@@jamesd5241 absolutely, I couldn't agree more. We have actually done a number of those before, such as Sweetspot workouts, but putting them in a series is a great idea. Thanks
