Iza kale’l-abdu ya rabbi ya rabbi. Ya Rabbi, ya Rabbi. He says it twice. Ya Rabbi, ya Rabbi. We are stuck, helpless. Kâlellâhu lebbeyke ‘abdî. Look at this Allah! Sinners like us, we are perpetuating with His blessings. Every blessing is from Him. When we are stuck, we say Ya Rabbi. Say, my servant, he says, Ask, I am ready for your word. I am ready for your wish. We always say it like this on Arafat. Labbeyk Allahümme Labbeyk. I am ready for your command, ya Rabbi.
Well, he says; My servant, tell me, what do you want from me?
What a great favor does this person receive from Hazrat Allah. We do not know our own value either.
Sel tu’ta. Ask, let me see, what is your problem, tell me?
This is a very important thing, brother. There is no distance between us and Allah! There is no distance between us and Allah, we do not need a power or strength that will cross the skies to make our voices heard. Allah is always with us. Always! Look, He addresses the words that come out of our mouths and says, “Here you are, my servant.” What do you want? What are you stuck in? What is your difficulty? You yourself, oh my Lord, I have this problem. Especially if you can say it at night! You got up at night, did your ablution, prayed two, four, whatever. After that prayer, you also opened your hands like this; oh my Lord, I have this problem. I have this trouble, this problem. I have told you about this trouble, I ask you, oh my Lord. Do not send me to someone else’s door. Grant me this wish of mine.
If you send a little salawat from the beginning, a little salawat from the end, Allah Almighty will definitely grant this prayer that you made between these two salawats. If He did not, it is based on a wisdom. On the Day of Judgement, He will give you more of its reward. It is not right to be urgent in everything. It is not right to be upset because I asked but he did not give it. He gave it to you but you are not aware of it. In other words, He gave it!
İzâ kâle’r-raculü li’l-münâfikı ya seyyidî fe-kad aghdabe rabbehû.
Be very careful about this though. By hypocrite, I mean someone who has doubts in their faith, whose faith is not solid, whose faith is on their tongue, whose faith has not penetrated into their heart, a show-off. Like this, now this hypocrite is showing off but he still says he is a Muslim. He says he is a Muslim but he says it with his tongue, he has no belief inside.
This hypocrite is obliged to say “Oh my lord, my lord”, “My lord” every now and then, because of the necessity of humanity and society. We reward him, we take him to task, we intervene. We just say, “Oh my lord, sir.”
Look, in response to this, he says; whoever is a hypocrite, oh my lord, [says,] whoever attributes a value to this and gives him such a nickname, fe-kad aghdabe rabbehu. He has angered and made his Lord angry.
In other words, how can you address him like that when he is not a man worthy of this address?
You will say, what can I do, I am in his retinue, I cannot help but say. But since people cannot rely on Allah, they have tied [their waists] to mankind as if the sustenance is here. This man says this by saying, “I will take something from his nature for a long time, [I will make him happy.” Yet, on the other side, he is angering his Lord and is acting in a way that will incur the wrath of his Lord.
May Allah protect him.
Iza kale'l-abdu ash-hedu en la ilahe illallahu kalellahu ya angels of the scholar abdi ennehû layse lahu rabbun ghayrî. Uşhidukum ennî kad ghafertu lahu.
Look at the reward of a martyrdom. In the evenings we say, O Lord, grant us the word of martyrdom in our last breath and we all bring a word of martyrdom together.
Look at what the reward is for this. We said ash-hedu en la ilahe illallahu. Kalellahu ya angels. Hazreti Allah says, ya angels. O my angels! Alime abdi ennehû layse lahu rabbun ghayrî. This servant of mine has understood that there is no God other than me. This servant of mine knows. He knew, because there is no God but me, he testifies to me. He testifies to me, üşhidükum ennî kad ğafertü lehû. Bear witness, O my angels, I have forgiven this.
The Almighty God also holds His angels as witnesses that He has forgiven His servant.
May Allah include all of us in the group of the forgiven.
İzâ kâme ehadükum fi salâtihî fe’l-yüskin etrâfehû ve lâ yetemeyyel kamâ tetemeyyelü’l-yahûdü fe-inne sükûne’l-etrâfi fi’s-salâti min tamâmi’s-salâti.
Look how beautiful! When you stand to pray, it says, do not swing to either side. Do not swing to either side, be in complete peace and decorum. To stand in the presence of God in such a calm state is a sign of the completion of the prayer.
