@Aussie50 Absolutely agreed. I love old stuff even though i'm young, hence the fact i use vacuum tubes. Good job, looking forward to seeing this beauty run!

@Arnthorg I pulled them off today and they broke apart. one had a spot of carbonized insulation where it had been arcing out long ago. probably why they shelved the motor.

Had the EXACT same issue on mine -- I just found a complete stator kit on eBay for a good price, and the coils were mint!

@30GB Yeah. They still have a number of parts for motors from the 1960's - 1980's. The 3hp model was popular in the 60's. should be lots around. I remember seeing a few on eBay.

With regards to the huge video file size, you could probably drop down to 720p with no noticeable loss of quality. Should shave a few hundred meg off.

Why don't u feed your videos into divx or something before uploading? Pretty sure youtube recommends divx, quality will still remain high.

We have a 3 horse Johnson, JW f22c. From 1967 I think. Currently trying to dial in the points .we do not have a mark on our flywheel nor are there holes in the flywheel to adjust the points so flywheel needs to be removed to adjust points., I may need to buy the $40 timing tool from Richard's outboard Tool Company. Com if I can't figure it out without the tool oh, there is a mark on the point cam that says top which lines up with top dead center when the arrow is at the point block. I now think the points should be just opening at that Mark which is top dead center.
