These are classic European style mountain boots! Like watching a documentary of an Everest expedition from the 70's before all the plastic came in. These will take a long time to break in but they'll be amazing when you do. Would be interesting to see what a Norwegian welt is. Almost too pretty to cut but cut them anyway! for science

So we would usually call the Norwegian welt "beksøm" in Norway. More named after the thread used than the actual welt stitch. "Bek" is pitch, and the traditional linen thread used for the welt stitch was traditionally infused with pitch for strength and water resistance.

I can tell you how they are build since they are nothing special when it comes to traditional european hiking boots: - Real leather insole with a gemming, true norwegian stitch, it propably has a shank They are overpriced for what they are, e.g. the Meindl Perfekt has a 3mm russian leather, whole cut pattern (even the tongue is included), leather insole, true norwegian stitch, etc For 330 Euros.
