+RedroomStudios I've never smoked so I particularly hated the ciggy side of aviation, we even served cute little packages of cigarettes after the meals. The Electra II had a lounge at the back and people used to go there to smoke but to be fair it wasn't terribly smoky, I think the cabin air was changed more frequently, today they don't change the air as much as they should to save on fuel and money.

+D Kelly,Jr I don't understand your point but we had better wages, passengers had more comfort and tickets were expensive. I think the core of the capitalist/ right wing thinking is to make more profit and squeeze as much as possible out of employees and customers, giving less and less. this is what sponsors their astronomic profits. keep blaming the Left whilst the Right silently devours you alive...

damn if everyone was just calm and didn't cause things to erupt so much, the 60s would have been a great decade, instead a bunch of drugged out hippies ruined it, by impulsively questioning the norm, it's called the norm for a reason, normal is good, they just had to go and make everything abnormal, the hippies ruined the 60s

I have seen plenty as a security gurd I use to work at Tom Bradly International where all the foreign airlines take off. I use to work at the Duty Free Store and man did they look hot. Some even wore the 60s style hats and believe me they could make you do anything. before it was a pleasure to fly now it just way to anal to fly with rules and police state mentality. Air travel actually used to be fun. I was lucky enough just to catch the tail end of that era of flying. The only thing that was very bad was smoking on the airplanes. Most adults smoked ( 68% of all male and female adults smoked then) For non-smokers or for people with asthma it was absolute torture. Your lungs and eyes would be burning the whole flight and it was not unusual to get off the plane feeling sick from all the tobacco smoke.
