I think that people who are complaining about the sound quality are missing the point here. This is meant to be something cheap that you can throw in a suitcase or bring with you whilst traveling. It sounds iffy, but if all you want is to get basic practice and to try out a few melodies/harmonies, then I think that this would do fine.

Sound doesn't matter (it's a MIDI keyboard, you can assign whatever you want). The problem is the "touch". You can't learn to play piano there.. just playing in a hotel room when you are travelling.
@reddevil9554

You beat me to it. Its most important function is that it's a midi keyboard, so it'll be whatever instrument you like and give you access to music production programs. You can add as many instruments and tracks as you want and play a full orchestra with a midi keyboard. I agree, it'd be useless to learn on, but for those who already know how to play and want to add tracks to a composition, it's not bad. I just wonder how durable it is, how long it'll last for before it breaks.

The real selling point question is this: Can it be used for plug ins such as Kontakt for better sounds? Can you play 10 keys at the same time without it omitting notes or adding other notes? Can you play it fast without it lagging? These are the common problems for every roll up piano that I've come across on the market.

Demo shows playing single notes only. Can piano play chords or more than one note at the same time?
@TheHallucinati
7 жыл бұрын
No it can't. Don't bother buying it. I watched plenty of demonstrations. If there are more than 2 keys in a chord - it sounds off. Another problem is - your technique really suffers. It's easier to learn to play an actual computer keyboard, because it at least has mechanical keys you can feel with your fingers. Also - this keyboard isn't touch sensitive so whatever you play will sound extremely mechanical. Good as a children's toy only
@Ctomfly1
7 жыл бұрын
Those are called chords. It can play chords. I played it at Costco in TW where they were demoing the product and was easily making it do chords, octaves, 9ths, 10ths etc. I have a small piano already, but I want to use this in my classrooms when we sing songs with the younger children. Obviously, a 61 key keyboard is limited, but it still has lots of applications you can use it for (I don't mean apps). I haven't purchased it yet. However, despite being the exact same model, it honestly sounded much better than in this video. Maybe they've updated the chipset, or maybe you can select from different piano types for the sound set.
@Ctomfly1

I gotta add that even my first electric keyboard over 30 years ago (some kind of toddler light up one) could do chords. Really wish I still had that thing for my own kids.

I do like the idea, very much, as I love to play the piano. I have one that is similar if not the same as the one in the video. And, while I am keen on playing it, I'm trying to stay away from it more and more because of the sensitivity issue. I like to play music as it should sound from the original, if I can; or, when I make my own music, I have an idea of how it should sound and the double/triple notes and unintentional note transitions tend to ruin the moment for me. I love this idea of a foldable, portable, inexpensive piano but at the same time, it leaves much to be desired. This is not me complaining, just stating my experience. It's a great tool but for those who can't accept a certain degree of error, it may be more frustrating than it is enjoyable.

Well, this wouldn't be a good choice for you main piano (I use the term loosely). the tone is pretty bad, as far as I can tell from the video. You wouldn't learn volume control. This is good for practicing away from your real piano though. An acoustic piano is best. If you opt for a digital piano, than make sure it has weighted hammer action (so the keys feel like real piano keys) and touch control (so it plays louder or softer depending on how hard you press). You want to spend in the neighborhood of $500 if you buy new. You could also try your luck with eBay, maybe you can get a good deal on a used one some one got board with

Hi I’m from Mexico, Hola soy de México I have a roll up piano keyboard, I have it since 2013 in December, by the way I got it for Christmas as a present, and I have a awful issue with that, some keys are not responding and doesn’t make sound when I tap on them, I’ve tryed to clean them putting a little bit of water into the keyboard, but it didn’t work. What do I have to do? cleaning the piano keyboard with a little bit of soap? I don’t know if there is a way to remove the keyboard, I don’t know if I can replace the roll up material, or if there is no way to fix it, no problem, the best Think is too let it like that and buy a new one, but first of all I’ll like to know if there is a solution to get my keyboard fixed. I keep aware for your reply. Thank you.
