@@joeharley8396 well that HONESTLY MEANs A TON TO ME my friend!! I try to offer a different take on this American paradigm.... from my Canadian perspective I can perhaps be slightly more objective when it comes to American history... This music is sacred , and a treasure of biblical importance... and I guess that the peoples who oppressed the Israelite's would not always appreciate that hind sight, as some in this country do not as well, as evidenced by soe of the comments I some times get.. but thrilled you even know who I am , let alone that you value the content!! I might check out that Booker Ervin Tone Poet, thanks for the tip! So cool that 60 year old recordings are still emerging from the Blue Note archives (although, who am I kidding, it’s not like I have even heard a fraction of the core catalog). I see there is some heated political debate in the comments. I enjoy hearing your viewpoint from across the Atlantic. It annoys me that people often try to shut down political discussion (you should try coming to a dinner party here in England!). Keep doing your thing Dan. Peace and greetings from London (where we are also gearing up for a somewhat unpalatable election this year, though not as bad as yours!)

Onya Dan. So good to see Kenny Dorham getting some airtime. That Quiet Kenny is one fabulous recording. It’s great to hear your insights from inside America- fark your knockers- maybe the US needs more immigrants to bring in some wisdom…as you say, experience some American “freedom”. I saw a meme recently that captures many opinions in my circle of the US election cycle. It placed the decision between Moloch and Ba'al. Elites vote in elites and they constrict median voter theorem to represent their median rather than the median of the people. Furthermore pressing immigrants as the driving force for economic deterioration rather than the policies they wrote.

I always enjoy your videos. Your perspective is valid and unique. Unfortunately musicians were exploited especially black musicians and that is a painful part of our history to some. I don’t think you should change be yourself. That is most valid. My only issue ever was a few videos ago when you told folks not to vote. Voting is unfortunately the public’s only voice in government and to insure we don’t fall into a banana republic. Sorry for your relationship trouble and wish you continued success in the cafeteria. If I lived closer I’d do some gigs for you.

I dont think people should NOT vote... i just dont think at this point it matters much... corporations have inflitrated all aspects of this democracy..reform is needed

I agree reform is necessary but voting is our power especially when elections are decided by 100’s of votes.. and don’t get me started about the electoral college. Corporations have infiltrated the govt and the bottom line is the bottom line … plus we see more and more folks in govt making big $$$$$$
