Outstanding Effort on the video. Your attention to detail is much appreciated. I don’t even have one of these cars and still watched the whole tutorial. I like to learn how things work. I am thinking about buying one of these little vans. Would you recommend doing so? Or did it have to many issues? Thanks again for making the video.

I have a 2016 Grand Caravan with 85k miles. Yesterday I was driving and heard a whining sound. I was in a bad area at the time so I jumped on the highway, drove about 10 miles, and when I exited the highway, after coming to a stop, the van wouldn't go. It wasn't catching gears for a few seconds then finally caught gears enough to get it to the side of the road [no lights on dash]. I called a couple people, and decided to take a chance to go another 15 miles home. The ENTIRE TIME it would only go up to 2nd gear and sometimes wouldn't even do that. I finally got it home. There are still no warning lights on. I checked the trans fluid level with my scored oil dipstick [I learned to do this from other YT mechanics], and it read way too high. The fluid itself did not smell burnt and looked ok. I siphoned about 1.5 qt out to get it right at the top of the hot line. It's still having the same issue. Still no warning lights. This is our only vehicle. Advice would be MOST APPRECIATED. Thank you in advance! Update: I disconnected the battery for a while and reconnected it. From what I read, that exited "limp mode." The van started to go then I heard the whining sound again, and the same thing happened [STILL NO WARNING LIGHTS ON]. I don't know how to diagnose it. Update 2: After disconnecting the battery again, I finally got the van to throw code P083B

Got the same issue. Did you find the problem and if so what part did you replace?

I know this is a year old comment, but for anyone else: when you hear the transmission whining it is almost always a clogging trans fluid filter. The whine is the oil pump pushing fluid through a clogged hole. Eventually the transmission will be so oil starved that it won't have the pressure to shift gears and you'll get slipping. Sometimes turning the car off will relieve the clog temporarily and allow you to get into a gear. First step is to get a filter and 6 quarts of oil and drop the transmission pan for a fluid service. Beyond that is this solenoid pack service because dirty fluid will also clog the solenoids. Certain transmission codes will lock your transmission into limp mode which usually sticks you into second gear allowing 0-45 mph.@@manuelsaenz2908

Just for other people who come across this, I'm working on a customer's Van and it too was the DC Solenoid (Pins 10-20) Mine came back with 5.5Ohms resistance. I had Error codes: P076A - Powertrain P2807 Powertrain Pressure Control Solenoid G

excellent video, with lots of very interesting explanations. In your opinion, why does my gearbox, when it reaches more than 80° and when I almost come to a stop, the engagement of first gear is sometimes a little abrupt and sometimes idling is a problem a little unstable. Thank you for your response, it would help me a lot. 130000km

Hello, good day, if you could help me with a question, I bought a package of rebuilt solenoids on Amazon and I tested them with the multimeter and those that are 1.6 ohms in the test have 1.5 ohms and those that are 300 ohms have 301.5, is that good or should I return it thanks have a nice day

So it was going in and out of limp mode? My 2013 is in limp mode with P1745. No matter what I do or fix it won't release. Even bought a scanner to clear the code.

You can, it is awkward but possible. If you had clips to go over the leads of your meter, that would help.

Should be covered under a warranty or a recall or something like that. If I paid tens of thousands of dollars for a brand new van or vehicle of some sort and shit like this happened to me then I'd be pissed.

@@CashApp-HelpMeStayAlive I did some quick research. It could be fluid level is low, a bad sensor, or maybe broken wiring. I’d lean toward the sensor. Since you’ve done a fluid and filter change, clear the code and test it. If it’s still in limp mode or code pops up again, probably a sensor. It should be the one mounted on the valve body itself. You’ll see it at 13:04 with the red clip. For me, the whole solenoid pack fixed my code. They do sell the whole valve body with the solenoid pack installed with new sensors but it’s a bit pricey.
