It's much easier to remove the clip nut in the trunk, then take off the sail panel (holds the rear interior lights) and remove the other two clip nuts. The whole piece comes off with clips attached.

It has been a while since i did this, but thanks for the feedback. It may help when it is time to reinstall them. Thx.

Are you saying these moldings can be removed from the inside, right? I'm about to tear down a 64 SS and want to reuse as much OE trim I can as it's in rather nice shape. That is, unless I warp em...

@@localsheriff i am working on a 1964 ss as well and i was wondering how your build is going how did you put this particular piece back on how did you connect it to the window chrome trim?

@@noebenyasharal938 To put it back on is a lot easier than removing it! You will need to have the sail panels out of the car. If the clips (3pcs)were removed from this molding they should be installed first. Slide rear portion of molding onto the lower backlight molding while at the same time inserting the clips' bolts into their respective holes. They bolt to the body with sheetmetal 'speed nuts', 1 in the trunk and the other 2 at the bottom of C-pillar. Then you can install lower quarter window molding.Hope this helps

@@localsheriffhey. I know it’s been a couple years. But does this also apply to a 63? Mine had a Vinyl top and it busted and started to rust under. Car is perfect t shape other than the roof rust. So I need to remove the windows and all the roof trim and. Fix and I’m just going to spray the roof white.
