That's scary how easy a good lock was opened , no picks , no tension tool... just a bit of wire bent at one end , I'm going to try that lol

Watch out students as all HMO's have to have thumb turns on ext doors by law. You just know the landlord won't have gone for the good locks.

That's why they often have a deadbolt installed as well. Although normally you can only access it from the inside so isn't much use if your out for the day. From my experience most private landlords use Yale rim locks in the UK, which tend to demand a premium just for the name. So if they aren't that good it's not out of deliberate cost cutting.

All you've shown is a bypass not under the frictional forces of the bolt, related components and the door frame. It's like watching my car window wipers without a windshield. This is not realistic.

@@BrummieLockPicker Getting closer to reality, but it's not installed in a door. The door jam will often bind on the surface of the bolt(s). And, the bolt in your video is just one of many types of bolts and mechanisms, and they all behave differently, especially with seasonal changes.

@@BrummieLockPicker No, I'm not watching the wrong channel. Unless you can prove to your audience that your approach hasn't been tested on real doors, maybe a disclaimer is needed. Yes, Aliexpress sells versions of your wire. It doesn't mean it will work every time or that it won't break or get jammed in a lock. There will be 10 guys showing KZitem videos of bypassing thess locks, but never on doors. Thanks for your friendly feedback.😉

History shows where this goes, look at another example, let's keep bumping not public knowledge. Then, after 80yrs, it became a popular technique among thieves. It is so until today. After 20 more years. Do you want more such locks to be sold and used? The lock should be secure, not people uneducated.
