Twin cam has that classic sound. I don’t care about the power difference. No m8 can leave me in the dust!

Good job got your point across didn't take long so i have 3 twin cams my favorite is 2010 RG with 96 has 100000 miles doesn't use oil and gets 46-50 mpg and that wasn't a big deal until i started traveling i put couple oz marvel mystery oil at every fill up and use shaffer's motor oil.

I currently have both a 107 and a 103. 107 has better power, much smoother, and much more relaxing due to feeling isolated from it. It feels very refined like a big Yamaha or Honda. In contrast the 103 has much more character. It feels and sounds like a Harley, and not like a Japanese twin at all. I like both, will keep both but the 103 is my favorite

I have owned the 88, 96, 103 pre HO, 107 and 114. My favorite two are the 96 and 114. I put about 10,000 on each and found the 103 pre HO to be the most lacking in torque. All were stock except aftermarket pipes on a few. Touring on the 2021 114 ultra is just the most relaxing and fun one to ride.

Started riding in late 2020 on a brand new iron 883. Went to trade in for a 2016 dyna low rider, 103 HO engine and loved it!! Then I tried a 107 slim and WOW! The difference was astonishing in every way. Tried out two more bikes and left with the last remaining ‘21 Low Rider S they had left with the 114. Such a nice motorcycle in every way! What an amazing upgrade from an evo 883 and even a tremendous difference from the 103 dyna! Literally everything is better. Well, except sound?🤷🏻♂️. But the ride quality isn’t even close. Power, performance, suspension, handling, comfort, everything. I absolutely love the M8 platform! I have installed my own homemade external breather system with fuel line and fittings from Lowe’s but that’s all I’ve done and I don’t plan to do much more. Some slip ons and that’s probably it. Yeah, the M8s are a vast improvement over any other Harley I’ve ever ridden.

I finally got out for a ride after this really long winter. The M8 is like a drug. Just so fun to roll on that smooth throttle.

Great video, No disrespect intended but the more "Eye Candy" the more it will cost over time to keep running. With that being said, she is a beautiful bike! We are heading to Beartooth and Going to the Sun Road this summer and can't wait. 2011 Limited 103ci & 07 Dyna 96ci

I just bought a 2016 heritage 103 over a new M8 heritage. Liked the old one better. Something has been lost in the new ones.

Ok jeez I hate to be a jerk, but you can’t honestly advise one motor over another before even getting out of the “break in” period. I’m not biased towards either engine, and I’ve owned the 107 and my buddies have owned the 103. Both great motors with negligible power differences (IMO the twin cam sounds better). Throw some real miles onto that thing and then give an honest opinion. Stay safe.

I hear you. I have owed an 88, a 103 and now the 114. All great. The 88 had the best sound hands down. Loved that bike. The 103 was very powerful but the torque would come on suddenly vs this 114 is smooth and instant. All great. I don't claim to be an expert, just wanted to give my perspective since I have owned and ridden them. Harley seems to have a winner with the M8 IMO.

The difference between my 2001 TC88, and the TC103 is night and day. Probably what you feel between the TC103 and the 114. My 2012 TC Stage II is so good for me, I can’t justify the $35K for a new M8. The Bobby Wood TW222 Cam really likes the 103.

Both are great. The difference is just in how the power comes on as you accelerate. Its settle but M8 has a smoother power curve. I would say for a very experienced rider, it won't matter much. I really noticed it in a curve. Its a bit easier to manage the power and acceleration on a wide sweeping curve.

The M8 is better but not a lot. Old bike had no CAT so that helped but new bike just seems to be tuned better. Problem is I tend to get on the throttle just for fun some MPGs aren't high on my priorities. hahaha.

I loved my twin cam too. Better sound for sure. I will say the Power Band on the M8 is more linear and that is helpful in corners. When slowly accelerating though a curve, you don't hit that spike in torque like the twin cam that sometimes gets a little sketchy when in a tight curve. Both are get motors.

@Timber Time Outdoors I just put the Vance and Hines brushed stainless upsweep on my twin cam. The difference in performance it makes is amazing. Honestly I wouldn't take what I paid for my low rider in 2017 right now, not even the full amount in cash.

I love my 114 RG but also have a 103 fat boy. Like you I’m stuck on the 114 in my 103 has a stage two. Totally different bikes two totally different bikes but that 114 is a sweet engine. I’ve got 24,000 miles on my RGS and I’m thinking about a stage two for it…😃
