Thank you for sharing this. I am an Alumni from Agawam High School Colorguard and a former Band Parent with both my daughters also now are Alumni. I so miss doing parades.

@@lindathrall5133 Not every school's marching band is it called that. Example, for Agawam for all years from the start (which was 1922) up until the late 90's we had an Honor guard(Which was American Flag, State Flag, 2 Rifle carriers, the Bands Banner, and sometimes flags from other states.) To which I was part of as I carried the American Flag. Then the Rifle guard(they spun their Rifles), then the Colorguard(spinning their Flags). But we were ALL called The Agawam Marching Mohawks Colorguard.

What a waste of space. The procession going so slowly that even a snail could keep up. I thought that America was the land of all things being bigger and better than the rest of the world. This procession gave the impression that they were spinning out a small number of exhibits with big spaces between, to make it look longer and better than it was. I live in a county in the U.K. called Lancashire and we can easily beat what was seen in the video. There is a celebration called Preston Guild which happens every 20 years and they have processions of more tightly grouped exhibits, are up to 3 or 4 miles long and have bands every couple of hundred yards or so. They have 3 different themed processions one on each of 3 days with each one having a different theme. There is religion, industry and community. There are trucks so well trimmed up that the drivers must struggle seeing out of the cab windows. They also trim up articulated trailers. If the organisers of the Guild processions offered the public a similar offering to those who organised the Quincy Parade, they would feel ashamed because they would be roundly laughed at. 69 years and they still haven`t got it right ? Shame on them.

I forgot to mention Terry, Sir Horace Fartwell. You may remember that he was the man who crossed a potato with a sponge - it tasted lousy, but boy did it soak up the gravy !

The worst Christmas parade ever. Except for one marching band playing a shortened version of "Hark The Herald Angels Sing," there was zero to do with the "REASON FOR THE SEASON.". I know I shouldn't be shocked or surprised since this was in Mass., but I guess I expected at least more of a pretense. The most color in the entire parade was the people selling festive balloons. The majority of the marching bands were just people carrying their instruments, leading me to think perhaps they didn't know how to play the instruments they carried and the only noise came from the drummers and even that was mediocre. Not even one float representing the birth of Jesus. It's like they were all ashamed. Horribly sad parade.
