Fascinating, I wasn’t aware of the baffle tube bass response contingent on length of port tube.

I did this to the rear deck speakers on my classic Mercury Sedan. Bass ported the 6x9 enclosures into interior, rear deck sealed from the trunk. The pioneer drivers went down to 28 Hz output, bass ported for 20Hz to extend the range. 1 inch diameter PVC pipe with elbow. I could have went with a larger port but needed to keep the bass port to the front/to fire out the top of rear deck. Plus it would help deliver bit more punch. The 6x9 drivers were 4-way, orientated the super tweeters (the smallest dome) to be farthest position from each other/facing outwards. The bass ports orientated to the inside lower corner. It worked and sounded grand, as in concert grand. The bass hole with filling, you can hear its booming. Any enclosure with just a hole just reflects back out everything that matches the enclosure frequency : mids, midbass and bass. A bass hole is great for voice. The ported with filling, you can hear the bass is tighter but still boom. You would need a deeper bass port with that small enclosure. That short port might be emphasizing 100Hz.

Sounds good man. I preferred the sealed enclosure with insulation, it sounded more expensive as opposed to ported, because it sounds like 1990s Argos hi-fi

Nice, i did the same years ago made a wide square hole, but i put on some extra wood to make an l port out of the hole so: Make a hole like you did on the side back end of the box, cut out a u shape from wood, cut out a lid (filled U shaped plank) and screw/ glue it on the side. It's easy to make and it will sound very good with low bass, just like your mod.

the bass is more boomy sounding a little bit more with the port. sounds better with the insulation stuffing added versus the one with a port the box is really quite small for those speakers.

I have CDT audio es gold 6x9 subwoofers on my Tacoma doors and they sound great, but I want them in an enclosure. I can’t figure out a way to have a full sealed enclosure in the front sound stage. Any ideas?

DIY door card enclosures made of MDF or similar. It's a big job and your doors will get heavier but that's the only way.
