Look at that young couple! I miss Thompson Center. The Contender series and their Classic 22 auto were all great guns. In your experience deer hunting with the 7/30 would you say it is about = to the 6.5 Grendel out to 200 yards in killing power? Yes, 2525 was a song by Zager and Evans in 1969. That song is in so many movies.

There is a guy I found last year who loved the lil Grendel as I do. He has been testing EVERY BULLET he can get his hands on!! Even obvious too heavy just ta see!!! He tests them at close moderate and LONG. His long is 400yards. Probably farther then Id recommend the cartridge. BUT, with proper bullets he is getting good complete and consistent expansion past 2X. Two stand outs are the 120 Gold dot and 129 Hornady sp. But the 140 GD is awesome inside 250 if a heavy bullet is preferred. I dont remember his name but I bet you could find him searching grendel bullet tests at distance.

Good morning CW, Don't worry about the 120 NBT being too light or fragile. I've shot a bunch of deer with them out of a 7mm 08 and each time it worked great. The gun writer John Barsness said that they 120 NBT shares the same jacket as the 140 NBT, so it is actually a fairly thick jacket.

Awesome awesome information thank you sir! I used most of these lightweight bullets when they were first released when they were basically all varmint bullets. I mean the light offerings for each caliber or Farment bullets. I know they made a change a few years ago especially with the 125 30 caliber. They gave it a thicker jacket. I didn't know they did the same with this one.

I love my Hornady 129 grain for that 7-30. That one works great for the 7mm TCU as well. Take care and stay safe bro! God bless!✝️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thats a unsung bullet for sure! Ya never hear anything about it!! I load it with H4350 in my 6.5/06 @ 3000. I need to use more in the Grendel. I watched some 400 yard testing and @ 400 it 100% doubled PLUS diameter in water.

Mornin man! If ya have extra spotter. I think its very good for the 50 y challenges. But Id move closer to target and then only cause its 75$. To me better then having camera right @ target where it could be hit. I use a old Bushnell 20x

Morning Mark! #1 my late wife loved it. But aside that, I always liked 7 over 30. No real reason just I like different and growing up I was only hunter of about 8/10 that had one. Most every one else was 308 or 30/30 with a 300 Savage and a couple '06's thrown in. My one cousin had a 35Rem. He was like me as his three brothers father and uncle were all 308's! Ballistically its flatter shooting then a 30/30 but then its not a long range caliber either. Its excellent in a Contender pistol too! I had a 14" that took a number of animals for me. Ill have that one again too!
