Plastic wads and BP sure do generate crazy amounts of plastic fouling. Those make a nice looking load. Another hull that might be good for that application is the federal "buckshot" hull, it has even more room in it than the Gold Medal hull has.

Fiber wads and cards i use..ill cut cup off and seat a slug in it. Yeah youll notice after a few rounds the recoil and head of the chamber will have significant build up. 60gr of 1f Prob be under 1000fps. I loaded 90gr of pyrodex and the Lyman slug before. And it wasnt hitting 1300fps.out of a cyl bore . waxed cards and wads are what ill use now. I'll put a round ball or slug in a plastic cup. The hard cards keep the plastic cup from melting. Any cup off a std 12g or whatever gauge gun your using will suffice, though the 1 oz or 7/8oz wads with shorter petals seemed to do better than taller ones.

i like how it all fits together with no messing about, its fine if you can put up with the plastic fouling.

Anyone, reloading their own shells, never >saves anyone money. ... The reloader just ends up shooting a lot more shells for the >same amount of money being spent; even when factoring in the price of the typical reloading equipment, which will last for years. ... GunGeek could rename is channel to escape the All Searching Eyes (AKA AI) by adding a tagline, which says, "Stretching Loonies and Dollars for collecting the real big Bucks!"

'Shotshells can be successfully loaded without any kind of a traditional wad column-fiber or plastic-between the powder and shot.' ... Maybe, a cushioning effect can be obtained by a 'ground-up' wood product. At, >Shooting Sporstman, T Roster, Wadless Shotshells. ... In the far frigid north, there must be a huge amount of wood sawdust, that can be utilized. No need to use 'ground-up' purchased Walnut Shells. ... When I was young, the old paper buckshot and slug shells were still available on the store shelves. [Cardboard worked fine. I punch out my own cardboard wards for my blackpowder rifle. They work fine and still deliver accuracy. ... A prepping idea for these dire times, and to leave a cleaner shooting barrel. The 'fire flash' with a rough ground sawdust would be spectacular!] ... The 'wood medium' surrounds the projectile(s).

If you were to consider the Lee slug mold, the 7/8 is the one to get. seems it will out shoot the 1 oz slug, I have the 1 oz mold and the best it will do is 4 inches at 50 yards. good video - Dave
