This was fun to watch because I’m doing the same thing right now! I love this time of year - out with the old, in with the new. I’m doing a major purge of all my homeschool materials and books and it feels great! Your babies are growing up. They look like a little Noah and Leah! Mariah is quite the artist. That piece was beautiful. Looking forward to all your back to school content!

I love the ideas for Spelling You See! Typing 1 of the 2 the dictation days instead is genius! And I see you spiral bound it. Love that idea too. That might just inspire us to continue. It is tricky to get 2 dictations in with the independent older middle school age kiddos who are struggling with spelling. Thank you!

As you were talking about utilizing Spelling You See to its fullest and then started on IEW…I was thinking…OH! I could use those passages from SYU as source texts for IEW. 🤔 I wonder if that might work?!

Great job putting this wrap up & end of year homeschool video together. It was neat to see you where you were storing the items.

We just finished Inventions w GR and all our kids LOVED it! It was one of their top favorites for sure...We have now completed 13 regular units and 2 mini units so far. Did you do a video on Christmas Around the World? I would love to see it. We will be doing it this year, Lord willing. - Shell

Well done! Thank you for sharing! I felt that the AIG (Masterbooks) subjects of Physics and Chemistry were much more challenging than the set you used. It almost felt that they were designed for the upper end of grade levels they aim for.

Would you talk a little about what you were doing at the end of the video? Do you create portfolios? How do you decide which pages of which workbooks to include? And how do you store said portfolios? Thanks ❤️❤️

Great video! I'm a little confused. Which subject did you use Gather Round for? It looks like you already covered all your subjects before you got to the Gather Round part of video.

I had intended to do several units to really beef up and supplement our history and science (it is also a way to bring all my kids around the table to study the same thing at the same time no matter what their age).

Hi I'm new to your channel. I'm interested in using gather round this year. I was wondering how do you personally use it with the other curriculum you use?

Honestly it has changed with every unit we’ve done. I think that’s what I love most about GR - it is flexible and you can make it work for whatever season of school you’re in. At one point it was our core curriculum, other times it was just a supplement. This upcoming year it will be the core of our history for all my kids and science/history/geography/etc. for my 3rd grader.

Yes - I think so, But I would point you to their website for placement! You will need to be sure to start in the book the correlates with your child’s current mastery level (addition facts, fractions, etc.)
