Born a Crime by Trevor Noah is the most brilliant and readable autobiography I have read in a long long time. It provides a firsthand account and a hilariously beautiful yet comprehensive analysis of systemic racism.A must read! P.s- Great episode. Thanks Smriti and BoT for a bunch of interesting reccos.

Agreed! Born a Crime is also the best audiobook I have ever heard. Trevor Noah narrates it beautifully, and I recommend it to everyone, even those who don't like audiobooks in general. :D

ABSOLUTELY AGREE. This book I recommend to everyone and Trevor is my husband in my head anyway. 🙈😂 I would have recommended this but I was focusing on people who were born and brought up in the US, hence. BUT YES, SO GOOD. The audiobook is stunning too!

The recommendations on the channel are great as usual and very diverse. They have always been highlighting great books about diverse genres. Request for recommendations is a good way to approach rather than being critical about the channel, after all it is theirs to manage the way they want. They have never discouraged anyone from putting their own list of recommendations in the comments. We should all learn to be more accepting of the differences. We all do read differently from each other.

You guys have all the time to review African American books but you will not look towards even a single Dalit literature available in India.

what did u do about either of the two topics? someone takes a step forward and then 20 people have issues with it because it wasn't as per their wishes. if the would've put dalit lit. then your parallel universe character would've been here ranting about black lives. you should defo read "the hate you give". ALSO, If you didn't know, they have talked about dalit lit in a lot of their other videos. just bec they didn't make a specific vid about it doesn't give you a free pass to post hate comments. Please be a little empathetic towards others, the world needs kindness now more than ever. if it was bothering you so much then a simple "hey please cover books on dalit lit" would've worked too but no arrogant hona hai sabko.

@@vivekian1 Vivek , stop being disingenuous. He made a valid point. Instead of berating him , you could have accepted the mistake. Indian uppercaste controls the media, both mainstream and social. The upper caste is blind to caste issues. Because of BLM movement and an extraordinary sensitivity that our upper class possesses to all the liberal American issues, somehow, we have seen so much discussion about African authors, while Dalit lit has largely been ignored. I hope next time you will check you privilege before punching down.

Just because someone provided a book list for one cause, that does not mean another cause is invalid. 🤔
