Wonderful! I did my own 5-day solo trip in the bwca a few weeks ago. My first solo there. It was spectacular. In the 40s at night and the 60s during the day. I did manage to kill about 100 mosquitoes, and I also got about 100 bites, so the battle was pretty even and we called it a draw. When I came out of the woods and drove to the end of the Sawbill trail, it was 45° on the North Shore, and by the time I got down to the Twin Cities, it was 95° at home. I wanted to turn around and go right back into the wilderness! Great video! Glad you're able to enjoy more of the woods in your retirement.

Did an 8 day paddle out of Snowbank Lake, with 26 lakes and 24 portages back in 2018. The BWCA is absolutely fantastic and a very special place. Anytime old Shug wants to paddle the BWCA with a well seasoned adventure seeker, look me up. No seriously, the BWCA will tug at your soul and suck you in and wrap its wildlife around you. It was everything I thought it would be and more. Loons, eagles, beaver, snowshoe hares, and grouse all made for a fulfilling experience. This is a place I could never get enough of.

You and others that canoe have inspired me, I plan to get my first canoe this next week, once I have kicked the Covid bug, made it 3 years, finally caught me. LOL. I started hiking and rustic camping in 2020 when the world changed. Found out I liked it, usually I do motorcycle trips, but am starting to see that my outlook on life or interests in life are changing, I long for more outdoor adventures. I was supposed to be on the Manistee River Trail now, but getting sick threw that trip onto a detour. Anyways, great video, nice Moose and Beaver; frogs were interesting too. Look forward to your upcoming canoe trip you mentioned in your latest hiking video. Stay safe out there.

So good to see ya back on the water in the BWCA. I did my first solo last year with a Magic from Rockwood as well, and had one quick dump getting into the boat half way through the trip. Such a sudden and humbling experience. I love how this video shows the phenomenon of the quiet of the Boundary Waters, I think that may have been the quietest "woo-buddy" I've seen. :) I often find myself down to a whisper after being out there for a while.. I'm a amateur bird watcher.. and that bird, who asked you .. "hey you.. what you eating.. is it good?.."... That bird was a robin. And I love how you quoted it because I love that type of narrating.." hey you.. what you eating.. is it good?.." I think it's a robin.... love you Shug I'm a big fan of how you narrate nature.. I am 90% sure it was a robin

I've been paddling for forty years and pack packing for just a few. Pretty much the opposite of you. It's fun to watch you get your footing in the canoe world. I'm glad you got your Magic "flip" out of the way in warm water. Mine was a few years ago in early October. A different experience to be sure. Thanks for taking me along.

Ted here Shug, no fair you saw Connie twice. As for why I watch your video. I just spent 2 days working in the woods in the rain wit da flies and now I am in a hotel room watching you. You make it real as if you were working right along side with me not complaining about the flies, heat, wet and other uncomfortable conditions of nature. But like you I get up and do it over n over again, why? Because we love it. Cheers to you my friend n cheers from da ROCK!
