As a retired registered dietitian, I can see the conundrum one may find themselves in with these dietary recommendations. I was taught we are omnivores and can handle just about anything in the diet that is not highly processed just fine, but I have not been in practice for over a decade so my knowledge is tainted with age. I think if someone is craving a food, it is the body telling them what it needs. Long as the food is near it's natural state and not highly-processed, I would not recommend avoiding it no matter what it is. Fad diets usually have several red flags. I'm not saying this is a fad diet either. It makes sense to me. However, one of the red flags in a fad diet is telling one they should avoid all or something in a certain food group ... like no white foods or no refined carbs or no fruit. Cane sugar is not good for you in large doses, but to cut it out entirely is going to limit someone quite a bit from good sources of food. The main thing I would avoid is High Fructose Corn Syrup, or HFCS. It was introduced into our diets in the early 1970 and follows the exact same curve as the obesity curve in ouur population. Fructose can be converted to glucose by the liver, but it is also a 6-carbon sugar. It can get into cells without insulin, so free pass. Once it gets in it is quickly and efficiently made into triglycerides. The ratio is what the problem is. In nature, the sucrose molecule is one glucose bonded to one fructose molecule, so 50/50 ratio. In HFCS, the ratio is skewed to 70% fructose and only 30% glucose. That pushes the body to use fructose more and make less insulin, thus producing insulin resistance. As for the raisins, if they don't cause tongue ulcers (they do this with me and actually a lot of people), I would say they are just fine to eat. As for wine, in moderation, I would say it too is ok, but most of the people I know who drink do it in excess fairly regularly.

You can’t just use 1 single compound found in a food to say about its effects. Its about the overall outcome of the food on the body. Similarly, coffee contains compounds like diterpenes that increases cholesterol levels in the body, but overall coffee has at the very worst, neutral effects on heart health.

Thanks for posting. I already avoided dried fruit on the list because it condenses a lot of sugar in a bad way, but I didn't know in dried form it increased estrogen. I already avoid legumes in my carnivore diet, especially beans because they are also high in oxalates, which leads to kidney stones, prostate issues, blocking mineral absorption, and are like little shards of glass throughout your organs, and joints. So, if you urinate a lot, or have chronic back or knee pain consider a low oxalate diet, and avoid legumes because of the phyto-estrogen, and oxalates in them.

First, thanks for your clear pronounciation. I am not sure that short period studies give evidence if a certain nutrition benefits your capability of producing testosterone or your capability to build muscles. Our body is running a complex amount of compensating and infuencing each other regulating systems. The question to be answered and investigated should be, how to get benefits over a long time period. In order to that studies need to cover at least many years, I'd suggest a minimum of 5 up to 10 years.--- In addition it won't be helpful to look at the hormon level alone. What everyone should be heading on is a all in all good healthy body and not only a muscular one .

Ok, I see the problem with all those studies. They state that those foods contain estrogen like substances and estrogen itself.... isn't this alone triggering question, how come foods that have been eaten for thousands of years all of the sadden are no good for men ? maybe those studies should include possibility that those substances are mixed into those foods and perhaps genetical modifications are also here to be blamed for such a high levels of estrogen. Just like high levels of gluten in GMO grains.

We probably have to pay close attention to exactly _where_ testosterone levels are dropping...is it really everyplace in the world? How does it track with changes in the chemical environment? Estrogen levels in US drinking water tend to be high in pharmaceutical estrogen (not removed by municipal water treatment), which is the result of millions of women on birth control pills. The food environment has changed radically in just the last 50 years. Some of the things on the list have been eaten only sparingly, such as dried fruit. Yes, fruit has been dried for thousands of years, but people still didn't each that much of it, and fruit today is _very_ different from fruit even a hundred years ago. Wheat in the US is nowhere near the same wheat your great-great grandfather ate.

My wife is a scientist, it is mainly the processed foods (which he discusses) readily turned into sugars that causes easily stored FAT, especially belly fat in men. The stored fat creates its own organ like creation of estrogen, along with imbalances in other body organs. He covers that by discussing "our western diet" of processed foods with sugars, white rice, pasta, bread, soda, alcohol. Basically, trade your bag of chips with a coke, for a salad with tuna, sardines, nuts, and water. ☮

What we also need to know is whether it is possible to consume any one of these products at the same time as another food or drink, so that the potential negative effect of one would be cancelled or balanced out by the other. A kind of symbiotic effect. It's like your old grandmother's advice to eat your greens with a dab of butter. That makes perfect sense, as most of the vitamins in greens are fat soluble, so your body needs a fat (like butter) to be ingested at the same meal, to be able to access the vitamins. The problem with these scientific studies is that they look at the effect of certain foods in isolation. But we don't eat or drink that way. We eat foods in combination with other foods. It's the combination of this with that, which determines the overall effect the meal has.

Nothing wrong with dried fruit except for the preservatives they put in it. It's common sense not to drink soda alcohol sugary foods.

In the past year, I have stopped consuming foods and drinks that are high in sugar like sodas, candies, alcoholic beverages, cookies, and cakes and cake like snacks, and I have increased consumption of fruits and smoothies with fruits and have found that I am feeling better and more active now.

Yep, sugar treats will cause you to lose your good health, faster than cigarettes. Both are very bad, but, sugar was called, "white death", by Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the 1970's as a Muscle Beach, Ca., famous bodybuilder. I never forgot reading that article, in a Joe Weider magazine.

Well, red wine has a lot of benefits too so drink it moderately. The part that surprised me was legumes. Bean and lentils have good nutrients and iron. I consume them once per week.

NO. The chemical products inside the skin and seeds on red grapes DROP the strogen levels and INCREASE testo. That's a fact. @@Feroxing12

16 days ago my back neighbor had an accident, I went over the 6ft wall using a ladder, getting back was a problem and I realized that I had lost a lot of my strength. I retired at 63 and now 69, shoulder opps both shoulders and colon cut out and a "Parke's pouch" in it's place and now am a skinny fat person. I did not like this so I started on the 100 push ups challenge with some other exercises. I ordered some weights and slim down protein powder. Now every day day I do 4 times 20 push ups and every second day I include weight training, it's going to take time to get my strength back and slim down so your input is much appreciated.

I did the math, and almost retired at 63. I started drawing my ss at age 62, right on my birthday. If I live to 77, that means I "lost" my bet, it means that I would have drawn more $$ had I waited till age 63, like you, my YT friend. So why did you wait till age 63? I'm very healthy, ride my bicycle everywhere, hit the gym twice a week, and am still working part time. If I don't get hit by a truck, it seems like I have a good chance of living to age 85, maybe 90. But I give it a 50/50 chance I'll be dead before age 77. So that's why I started drawing as soon as possible.

I asked God for 10% discount on my years so 70 minus 7 =63. He did not grant this so I am getting older and uglier by the day.@@tarico4436

I eat raisins, cranberries, dates and legumes almost daily for many years, and I am not seeing any low sex desire and I have good gym gains but I also eat a lot of vegetables. I avoid alcohol and sodas.

About soy milk, I don't know about the study in your video but there is no scientific base to support it. Fyto estrogen is not estrogen nor does it cause the body to porduce estrogen.

@roxximusik8958

Absolutely. And the news is that researchers are struggling to identify a large percentage of the nano- sized particles of plastic found in everyday bottled water. The types they know about are bad enough, and many are known endocrine system disruptors. Small wonder that many populations are essentially becoming gay. You can readily see how global population growth may be curtailed in the not too distant future. 👽

Probably because over 90% of the food supply is wrapped/stored in various types of plastic. The only thing from the list added to commonly consumed foods since testosterone levels started significantly declining is soda (polished/refined carbs have been around for hundreds of years), which is commonly packed/stored/sold in plastic bottles. Like bottled water. It's not as though the consumption of dried fruit, legumes, soy, red wine, and alcohol is some new dietary trend that correlates with the current decline in T levels.

What polished/refined carbs have been around for hundreds of years?
@albertoferreira403

well... cereal seeds are nowadays more lab manipulated and flours are visibly more refined than lets say in the 80´s (so definitely different from hundreds of years). The herbicides, pesticides are more sofisticated in their productivity but not necessarily less harmfull. Soy mass production began in the 90´s, I believe. And world´s 70% is made in USA+Brazil. Wich in turn should be mostly transgenic soy. Mass dried fruits production began like 10 years ago. Most I see in the shelfs are produced in the USA and other countries where food regulation are very poor (who knows if they are trangenic or what "secure" presticides where used. Even in Europe, since the american Monsanto bought the german Bayer in 2016, the use of herbicides glifosates is authorized. And yes, BPA of plastic bottles can pass to water, as well many other xenobiotics can be found in food due to the booming chemical industry.
